Sure the Slumdog Kids got a raw deal. But save some tears for REAL suffering...

Wow. That truly sucks for those women. I've never worked in finance so I can't say that I can relate, but at the same time it just seems silly to get that worked up over money. Hopefully something good will come from this for these couples if their husbands can discover that there is much more to life than money and the economy.

Of course, some of those women sounded awfully shallow. Hopefully they'll learn something from all this. Maybe they'll move on from the "math nerds" as the article stated. But for the women who had serious relationships and marriages it is serious.

And a lot of people have been hit much harder than these women and their husbands, or never had such a pampered existence in the first place. Kinda sad that none of the people quoted in the article could even see fit to mention that, or that the writer ignored that fact.

Personally though, I'm sick of hearing about our broken financial system. There has to be a better way than our current state of rampant capitalism. Not merely dumping money into it to keep it on life support either.

BOO F%$KING HOO!! go get a job, whores.

The two characteristics I absolutely hate in human beings:

1. Arrogant, cocky, self absorbed guys.
2. Shallow, insecure, money grubbing women.

I'm not even going to really say anything here but, yea, you're pretty much on point.

Makes me think of fish versus amphibians.

When the drought comes and the water dries up, the fish flop around and die while the amphibians pull up stakes and plod off to find the nearest damp friendly crevice, up on the land.

Enjoy your flopping, fishies. You shoulda grown some lungs and legs, while the growing was good.

While I detest 'gold diggers' be they male or female, one wonders how society comes about making such a distinction, observe:

Take for example your hardworking 9-5 blue collar working man, the one who :

'brings home the bacon'

so to speak, in a redunctionlist view point one could say they function on the same fundermental principle? if so how and where does society draw the line between two cases?

Just playing devils advocate...

Be serious.

Of course social stratification to some degree is a constructionist notion but if you look purely at the nominal value of ones income and wealth and then that wealth against the median of the sugject society you very easily have your answer.

As to the Gold Diggers, that terms connotation is exclusively reserved for the female gender role in our society.

If you look at what the female contributes to the family unit in terms of percentages you have your answer as well. I am not in anyway discounting labor involved in managing and keeping a home. I would say that it is at least valued at 60-100K per annum.

But bottom line is those bitches in the times article is whinny ass gold diggers.
