Flight of the Conchords Fans please check this out!

Hi, here is a link to a fan video we did for a "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenocerous" lip sync contest. We shot with the HVX200 for a few hours at the Salton Sea a few hours east of Los Angeles. We used a round polarizer to try to get the sky as blue as possible.

Here's the link...

Anyway, if you enjoy our take on the song please feel free to give it five stars. Oh, and definitely click on the "Watch in HD" button to view the HVX in all it's glory.

Thanks so much!
Tanner

I really liked this!
The picture was very crisp, and the colors and brightness was perfect!

Stock lense?
Cool lipsync idea! should get somewhere with that ;)

Thanks so much ZtilongZ. It's cool to know someone in Norway has a similar sense of humor!

Anyway, yes, we shot with the stock lens with the original HVX200. I shot with B Press Gamma after reading on these forums that it would help minimize noise in the sky, which was a huge problem the last time I shot with the HVX and Cine Gamma D.

I only wish I hadn't shot so much under middle-of-the-afternoon sunlight, it's definitely not very flattering on faces. Unfortunately I didn't have much choice.

Anyway, thanks again for checking it out. We really appreciate it!

Have a nice day,
Tanner

Would you mind sharing the settings you used in the scenefile?
I love just this look, and I would like to copy it in a musicshot soon...

Any CC in post?

Thanks so much guys. I definitely appreciate the kind words. Any criticism anyone has would be much appreciated as well. My mom definitely was not very amused and let me know it.

Anyway, I'm at work right now and can't really remember all of my scene files. I definitely shot 720PN with B Press Gamma. I don't think I tweaked anything that much though. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I reset the camera to the default Cine Gamma D settings (F6), and then simply changed from Cine Gamma D to B Press.

In terms of post I edited on Final Cut Pro and crushed the blacks and boosted the mids and whites a tiny bit. After that I brought down the saturation a bit just so that it wasn't bleeding. Oh, and several shots have a mild vignette applied as well, courtesy of magic bullet. Oh, and I tweaked the color balance of most shots very slightly, usually adding a hint of green and taking away a bit of red.

Once again, thanks for the nice words.
