aight first up ur definately gonna hav to put caption if u want these guys to understand. i understood cuz i have family in belize and have visted couple times...and cuz i'm jamaican and our creole is somewhat similar.

Anyhoo...areas to improve on :
1. Sound. all over the place. i'm no sound person AT ALL(just got my dvx couple weeks) so i cant really help u that much there. but i saw the mic in the frame a couple times..careful about that.
2. lighting - kinda looked like u blasted ahard light on the actors in the indoors scenes casting that shadow. but when ur lighting try to enhance where the light would actually come from in a scene( window, light bulb ect) so look around ur scene and see where light wud come from in a real life situation and enhance those lights( light from those places) For ur indoor scene u could have used a china ball for ambiant light(nice and soft casting no harsh shadows) and used some practicals ( normal house hold lamps) as props.
3. The acting kinda seemed dull. I'm sure these are just normal folk and not "actors" per say so i guess that can slide.
4. more intersting camera angles apart from the normal medium/ cu/ establishing shot. play with ur framing...look on all plains (foreground mid and background) BTW be careful not to cut the chin in ur close ups..cut the forehead instead. watch ur headroom.
5. the story line was lacking also.

Its good to see something coming out of belize. Keep at it, i'm critiquing but i'm no expert at all and i'm just saying this to try help u out. this u said was 2 years ago...i;m sure u;ve learned alot more during that time for ur upcoming short.

yes i'd like to see ur other upload. We're all here to learn and i;m sure i can learn a thing or 2 from u also. I wanna head over to belize sometime this year, if i do i'll be sure to hit u up. would be good to link with another aspiring filmmaker...even moreso a fellow dvx user.
