You can use basically any lens with it; however, with different types of lenses, a different magnification factor is introduced. With nikon or canon SLR glass you get something around 7X magnification; with PL glass, I think it's like a 5x magnification factor. There's an adapter for every type of lens to be used.

Am I selling to cheap?

I realize that I've been trying to sell this camera for a while now, with no success, which baffles me, considering how cheap I'm selling it for. So that starting me thinking that perhaps I'm selling it to cheap, which makes people suspect me of fraud. I just read Jarred's "how to avoid a bad situation(fraud)" and I wonder if this camera sale of mine makes people think I fall into category "questionable pricing"
And to think that I thought that by selling it cheap, I would sell it quicker. Anywho, those interested, let me reassure you: I'm no fraud- the camera is in pristine condition, only 20 drum hours, no scratches, never been outside of my house, etc, etc.

Camera alone with everything that came with it, including box= $3000
Camera with 2x AB bricks & charger= 3500
Paypal only.

This is a bargain, man! Too bad it isn't the camera I'm looking for... I've seen footage of this camera, and while it's great, I don't like the look for some strange reason. People here seem more interested in the HVX and the Canon XHA1. And to think that your camera had a price tag of 7k when it came out. I wish you luck selling it bro, someone will buy it soon...

i think people are not wanting to work with the HDV codec anymore since the introduction of AVCHD. plus considering you can get a hmc150 for $3500 new, granted, the glass isn't interchangeable, but still competitive. you might consider lowering the price a bit. just my opinion.
 
I bought a 200 about 4 weeks ago. Pictures are amazing. I shoot for broadcast. Its a fab camera hold out for your price. good luck

considering that a gentleman on another popular site--a site where you are also trying to sell this camera--is selling the same camera body with the upgraded 17x fuji lens for the same price, i would say you are not asking too little.

No, he's not; he's selling "Camera only" without Batteries for $3500, whereas I'm selling the Camera + 2x AB batteries W/AC-charger for the same price.
That means that I'm selling the camera only for $3000(make that $2999)

Gotta get you facts straight before making false statements.

as i have spoken to glen--the gentleman selling the camera with the lens--on the phone on more than one occasion and we talked at length about the difference between the two lenses maybe it is you who should get his facts straight before spouting off about selling an item for too little. no where in his ad does it say "camera only". his package includes the camera and the $3000 upgraded lens and i feel it is a great deal. the best i've seen in fact and glen is pro and a nice guy to deal with.

With all due respect, sir,
No one here has made any slighting remarks about Glen and his reputation. In fact, I've been reading his posts on Dvinfo.net for over 2 years, and my impression of him is that of being a very respectful, trustworthy professional. However, I'm humble enough to admit here that in reading his ad, I did in fact miss the part about his camera having the Fujinon 17x5BRMU HD lens. I'm sure there are those who might consider that a plus. As a 35mm adapter user, I never did. Anywho, Mea Culpa for my oversight, Mark.

So ,I guess the buyer has to decide between that camera with the Fujinon 17x5BRMU HD lens and my Camera with the Fujinon 16x5.5BRMU plus 2x AB bricks w/Charger/AC adaptor...and did I mention I'm throwing in a Portabrace bag


P.S: BTW, this HD200U has only 20 drum hours.

Can you plug this camera into a firestore like device (portable HDD via firewire) instead of using HDV tapes?
