DV4 Tripod vs DVX100a (sorry, newbie question)

Hello,

I've got my hands on a DV4 tripod & DVX100a...

Unfortunately, they don't match somehow....

What's missing here? Help please:

And DVX100a baseplate:


How do I mount that camera on that tripod? The people I've borrowed these from are out of reach, unfortunately.

Looks like you need what's known as a wedge plate. This fits into that slot area on top of the tripod, and usually comes as an integral component of the tripod. The camera would then fit onto the wedge.
