Hi All
Selling a Sony BVM-D14H1U 14" component in Color QC monitor.
Old school, very nice, much better IMO than the LED or LCD monitors for final color balancing.
It DOES have a component input.
It DOES NOT have an HD-SDI input, although there is a card slot for that option.

Google this:
Sony BVMD14H1U
for information.

It's in pristine condition. Just bought it for a job that never materialized. Can't hold on to it, no space, bills to pay.

Photos to interested parties.
Prefer local only, obviously.

Have it connected to my Aja Kona setup and it's fabulous.
Asking $850 obo, but obviously I'm a motivated seller.

Let me know quick - this won't last!
Cheers
Chris

oh, thats a SWEET monitor. im trying to convince myself that i really NEED it... ; ) and the capture card id have to buy to use it...

local offer imminent make this probably your last chance, folks! great gear at a very decent price!

Is it SD component, HD component, or both?
If both, do you switch them or does it auto detect?

Thanks,
Lonnie

Sounds awesome! Wish you were in NY!

Question? I don't understand how it's supposed to get more resolution in 4:3 mode ofer 16:9. Wouldn't it use the same amount of horizontal lines for both?

The control unit that it does not have is a convenience - is this correct?

I assume you can still control all the functions via the menu - it's just more tedious...
would you care to elaborate?

(I have the PVM14L2 series, but am looking for an HD CRT... and it's rather difficult to obtain info when these things are discontinued and parts and mis-info are scattered everywhere on the net. I appreciate you clearing this up...)

Thanks,
Lonnie

Hey Lonnie
Not correct. You need a 10R controller unit to work this particular monitor. Current ebay prices are around $380 for a BKM-10R with cable. Also between $800 and $1200 for a 142HD SDI input card. That would put this piece at around $2k for everything all up, which is around $800-1500 below current market price for a rig of this quality and age. Without the BKM-142HD HDSDI input option (but with the remote, which can handle multiple 14H1us), that would work out at around $300-500 below market price, depending on how carefully you shopped.

As far as information goes, google "sony bvmd14h1u" - there's a load of info there, including pdfs of manuals.
