i'm also looking forward to the first camera that combines all the good qualities, along with at least *some* manual control.
cool, did you get a chance to compare it to something? i have too but projected with a normal hd projector, which sort of hides the imperfections, i'd love to see some projected with a real digital cinema projector or even better blown up to 35mm. i'm working on getting some tests of the latter made, but it takes time to convince people.By the way, I've seen some of my footage from the D90 on a huge movie theater screen and it looks better than on a computer in HD.
Personally I don't get the obsession with sharpness, a lot of really good film is soft. Lets face it most of us didn't come out of the birth canal looking like a supermodel and we're not very pretty filmed in HD. HD requires really good lighting and really good makeup. This is why the D90 looks better than the 5D shooting people. If the D90 was SD I'd still use it for my feature. I don't care about sharpness as much as I care about shallow dof, low light performance, and color rendition.not really, as the thousands of film look filters around have proved by failing. and yes, i'd like to do most my projects that way, just as i never really used video except for documentary work. many video cameras produce results that are sharper than 16mm but the latter always looks much better in my opinion.

I could totally see something like this being filmed with a D90.
Once again substance over style. Fisher Price in the right hands can be quite moving.
Albeit, this was film...

if you mean by boring then yeah, it's possible.
