Cage / Handle setup options. Need adapter dimensions :)

Hey Cory here! Well it's no secret I've been developing a cage/rail mounting setup. I'm working out a simple bug where one of the cage spacers needs to be extra wide on 1 side or have 1 side open to accomodate the prizm flips of various adapters. Ie: Letus, SG Blade, Redrock, Brevis. I've only used my own adapter in efforts not to copy any functionality and start with a fresh perspective. It would be of much help at this point to myself and I hope many others to know the dimensions of many adapters. I'm certain some of the info is available on various threads or websites. I am also happy to provide dimensions and specs of my adapter as well if anyone wouold like to know.
Thanks all for your time. Here are a couple pics including the most critical dimension I'm interested in. That being the didtance from the lens center to the outer prism nub. Also I would love input on what spacer style would be best appreciated. The open sided bolstered spacer or the extra wide enclosed spacer, both weighing the same. Here is also a close up of the new handle. :)

Letus Elite is 3" Horizontal from Centre

Vert measure is 5"

What are you going to do about those users who wish to have the adapter inverted?

Probably the smallest of the 'bunch', the letus mini:

EDIT: had a closer look at handle photo.

Here is also a close up of the new handle.

Hi Cory. I would love that handle on something like this:

The "open sided bolstered spacer" would be great if it's strong enough, as this would mean you could attach the handle to your rig straight out of the camera case, without having to unscrew and remove the rods support everytime.

I have the canon hv20 with letus mini35. The total rig weight with a 200mm f4 is only 3.6kg/8lbs. So it is quite light and shouldn't require two 'spacers', I don't think, pending the strength of the material of course.

Inverted.

Inverted.

What are you going to do about those users who wish to have the adapter inverted?

The spacer will take the vertical rise or drop of the adapter inside with adapter inverted or upright. The spacer itself can be flipped 180 degrees on its vertical axis to mount with the protruding side to the left or right. Same with the open sided spacer. You just flip the spacer so the open side matches the prism nub.

Oh And thanks for all the input, diagrams and all. I am now making a run of the spacers and handles. I am also making just a handle that will rise above a rig and not include the upper rail mounts. Thaks again. Cory

Ok!

Ok!

Thanks to all who have helped. Here's what I've come up with. I've decided to make them open sided and also with the prism safe zone. I will still make the ultra light generation 1 spacers. The new design also incorporates the sede rails to hold our LCD mount and Swing matte box. I've gotten a few questions about what exactly these spacers are so here is my favorite rig pic. I will be shooting some new pics with the new spacers soon. Oh! The new 15mm to 19mm rail bridge is also illustrated. It will be compatable with all of the rail blocks, spacers and misc components in this line now and old.

Cory
