Why are 5DMKII questions all over this forum?

Either the forum should be renamed to DSLR or a new 5DMKII forum should be created. How can this be accomplished?

because they look up to us :))

...or because 5d is getting lost in canon thread, and the attention is divided...and nikon is a unique brand, and first to introduce HD on a DSLR and this forum is very well regarded as "gathered people with interest in HD dslr`s and upcoming/related technology"

also due to price-range and 30p frame rate, canon,has already a stink eye, and will not be as popular as d90 in filmmakers community(big effort and funds are gathered to get 5d on the right track(24p),as the company is non responsive to customers request)

It makes sense to keep D90 and 5D-II topics separate for now, while there are only two such cameras in the game.... but as more dSLRs with movie mode come along then it'll need a rethink.

The Panasonic G1 with HD video should be along in a month or three, and there are lots of P&S cameras doing video which have their uses too.... perhaps a forum here could accomodate them?
 
Yeh, the new Panasonic G series camera with video doesn't have a mirrorbox, so it's not technically even a DSLR. Things are getting complicated. Perhaps have one main section (I don't know what you'd call it!), within which you have sub-sections for the different brands (Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, etc).
 
I welcome the 5d mark ii questions/comments. As it helps me stay in touch with other technologies.

And the micro four thirds camera's will also be a welcome addition.

Maybe "Still Camera Video Hybrids" might be an appropriate title?

Although I don't mind the way it's set up now with the D90 being the default forum.
 
Yeah, don't mind the name. As long as there is only one forum where we can see all equivalent cameras footage and questions. Stills+Video might give the impression we want to talk about amateur still cameras that record HD video, wich is also not true. But nevermind the name. The thing is we like having the 5D discussions around. The more we divide the topics the harder it is for everyone to see them. My .50 would be to keep it simple.
 
It seems obvious that the admin at cinema5d.com have some kind of deal with the admin of DVXuser.com or there would have been a 5DII forum here awhile ago. I guess I will just assume that the D90 forum here is also the 5DII forum.

Just my .02 that this forum should be renamed: DSLR Video Cameras
 
Considering the 5DM2 is a bigger seller over the D90 I'd prefer to keep the two forums separate otherwise we'd have to wade through dozens of unrelated threads to get to the relevant Nikon information.

Just my crazy logic...
 
Matt, I have no hard marketing data, I just get the feeling that everywhere you look people are wanting the 5DM2 over the D90 and well... because it's a Canon right?! Don't all the best known (un-endorsed) photographers shoot with Canon dSLR anyway? HA HA!!

Some of the greatest on-line video I've seen to date seems to come from the 5DM2 besides, all my video dSLR colleagues already have or are getting the Canon 5DM2 - I'm the only one who got a D90!
 
A lot of pro photographers actually prefer nikon but you're probably right that canon is bigger. I'd like to see some numbers though, especially compared to dslr's without video...
