Short Horror/Comedy Trailer - Colore Non Vedenti

Hey guys,

I've recently wrapped up shooting a half hour short horror/comedy film called 'Colore Non Vedenti'. It's in the tradition of 70's and 80's horror/thrillers; more specifically, the 'body snatcher' style films like The Stuff, The Blob and Invaders From Mars.

I wrote/directed/dp'd and am currently editing the final film. This week I finished a trailer and hope to get some comments from you guys. Here's the link:

The film was shot entirely with the HVX and is 99% filmed with the stock lens.

It should be finished sometime in January and will hit the internet and film festivals throughout the year!

Thanks for checking it out,

That looks great. I would pay to see that immediately. Looks like a fun, stylish good time. And to wear so many hats on this production is even more impressive. So kudos on that as well. Congratulations and good luck!

Makes me feel inspired to not even bother with a 35mm lens adapter. Excellent work.

that's what I was thinking, I mean yeah you can get more out of an adapter but that was looking pretty good liked the depth of field in a few of the shots gave it a film look

That looks fantastic!! I love the look of it. Great job on the editing too. I couldn't help but laugh when the Exorcist II disco music kicked in. Really great job on the graphic of the title. Reminded me a lot of Italian trailers from the 70's and 80's.

Can't wait to see it!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Although I do think the lens adapter has its advantages, it was just wasn't right for this project. We were working fast, and I was doing multiple things at once with no camera assistant, so I needed to be able to set up and move along very quickly. In the end, I think we achieved some nice visuals anyways. I guess it's just a matter of whether or not as a cinematographer, you're willing to achieve the shallow depth of field using more of a telephoto look; something that changes the implications of the shot. In this case, time saving won out. :P

Mannnnnnnnnnnnn that is rediculously sharp mainly the 1st 20secs.... I swore it wasn't HVX footage.
What can be attributed to that (compression, lighting, settings)

Matter fact what were your settings?
