Problem capturing with FCP 6.0.5/sdhc card

I have captured my 1st 16 gb sdhc via a panasonic usb card reader with no problem.
I am on my 2nd card and about half way and in the status column of the log and transfer window there is a red exclamation point, and the file is there but it can't be open. It started doing that on all the clips, so I stopped it and tried again. it started going fine then red exclamation point again. I go to look at the file and it also is relabled itself to the last clip i relabled on the other card on the drive. by the way I am capturing on a brand new 1.5tb seagate internal sata 2 drive. mac pro octo 16gb ram
I rebooted and now it's working fine again but i couldn't find the clips. so i captured just one again it went in the folder. so i captured all the ones i needed that were left and the capture was complete. all clips there now, but red exclamation deal worries me.

Has anyone seen or had this problem?

Does it still work and find clips with the first card that tested good? Cause to me, it sounds like it's a possibly bad card.

What cards are you using?

I haven't experienced this problem yet... I'm using Transcend 16gb class 6 cards. Working like a charm, so far. ;)

did u try transfering the archive files to ur hd first and then quicktime wrapping them w/ log and transfer from the archive? that will help u determine more factors in the situation. could be the card reader, could be something via usb. if the archive is intact on ur hd and working fine then i doubt it has anything to do with the cards themselves.

I started right away with the log and transfer right from card via reader. I just tried putting one mts file on a hd and tried to log & transfer it, and it won't allow me to do that.

hmm. can u try do it via camera instead of a card reader maybe? is there firewire off the camera? (i've never worked with the hmc before)

Quote" is there firewire off the camera?"

Not sure what that means?

I haven't tried direct from the cam yet. I can try next time a capture.

So, I guess NO one has seen this red exclamation point in the status window while using fcp log & capture???

I have seen that on HVX stuff. It might be a repair clip option.. if you shut down the cam while recording or such. Id' say to repair the clip in the camera and see what you can conclude. Another option is to capture via an intensity card or other capture device. This is what we did till FCP started working...
