HPX2700 Varicam....Or HPX3000...which would you choose?

In Europe, price difference between HPX2100 and 2700 are less than 3000 Euros. Considering the added benefits from the 2700, the choise is obvious.
In Italy I've found the 2100 (body only) at 24900 Euro whereas the 2700 is 26900 Euro. In Spain, the lowest price I've found for the 2700 is 25900 (always, body only).

I don't understand why there are so huge difference in the US market.

Exactly! US pricing is $27K for HPX2000, $39,950 for HPX2700! HPX3000 is $48K, HPX3700 is $59,950!! The European pricing proves that there is something wrong. I know of TV stations and large video rental facilities in the US that get a 50% discount on Panasonic equipment(ditto Sony). It's no wonder with the inflated US pricing we have. And US distributors wonder why there is a gray market for the products? The foot steps that Panasonic and Sony are hearing from RED will continue to get louder and louder.

2700

-super cool varicam logo made out of pure gold and therefore worth approx 10k (USD) though rumor has it they go for 8400 on the grey market.....
