Woohoo! Just ordered my blade (w/flip/razor1&2/bracket/Nikon mount)! :happy:

sorry guys. I killed my blade in a freak accident... lets just say oil was the cuase..... I'm so pissed...

no footy as of yet.. I'm mailing my blade back to wayne.
 
wow... crap man... so your blade was kaput all along? oil as in sloppy cooking lead to a slip in the kitchen? tell us more, hope your arse and your ego are both intact

I was hoping for a lot more footage from the betas, I am dissapointed and it is all your fault Timur! :)

Seriously though, when will you get a working blade Timur? Together with everyone else?
 
I've read the thread from day one, but I don't remember if this has been asked.

How hard is it to remove the blade from the camera (I've got an EX1, but I guess it's the same principle on all the camcorders)? Do you screw it on the filter thread?
 
Hi,

Both the FLIPmodule and Non Flip Tube have a '72mm connector' that is removed via 4 set screws. This is then screwed into the camcorders filter thread (using step ring if needed). The 72mm connector is then connected to the FLIPmodule or Non Flip tube via the set screws.

To remove, simply do the reverse.

How long does that take when everything is on the rails? A minute? Ten?
I'm asking because I think I'll be willing to use the adapter on some shots but not others.
I have a vct-14 plate to quickly change the camera from tripod to steadicam. Do you think I'll be able to use those plates to quickly remove the camera from the rails and blade?
 
Hi,

2 - 3 minutes max. Our rods support uses a Giottos QR plate, it maybe possible to mount your vct-14 plate onto this.

When do you think we can expect to see footage from some of the other beta testers? We've been waiting anxiously for a month, now. I know Timur and Papa posted some tests, but havn't seen anything from the other 3 testers. Could it be that the examples and reviews are posted somewhere other than here?

Both Timur's and Lenny's units have been returned, we are sending them out production versions next month. Matt Garrett should be shooting footage now, he had been on holiday.

We are working on getting together our own test footage, also. We have now shot EX1 and HVX200 footage, I am editing this as we speak :) We will start to upload the footage this week! Please keep your eye on the testing zone for updates: SGblade Testing Zone
 
Be patient guys. BETA is BETA for a reason.
Wayne is working his butt off and we will eventually all have results to share.
The units were returned for a very minor issue, so don't worry. I have very high expectations.

Wayne first off, thanks for getting back to me so quickly by email with all my questions, you are a legend, second of all, my girlfriend hates you...

Just told her, her engagement ring is gonna have to wait, at the price you are selling the blades at that will have to take priority first ha ha

Hi Wayne, I apologize if this has been asked before, but it is a very long thread. How long would it take to swap out the Razor 1 and Razor 2 elements in the field? How difficult is it? I'm considering ordering both but I'm a big fan of running and gunning so speed is essential.
