Some skiing shots with a dolly, feedback wanted

Showing the track kinda kills the magic that a dolly is supposed to create. Mix it up a bit and don't repeat the same dolly movement to many times. Also in fast moving shots you need to adjust the camera so the movement is less choppy. A shutter speed or frame rate change is all thats needed.
Good start though.

Yeah, i dunno i liked the shot showing the track. As for fast moving shots, do i just need to increase shutter speed and/or frame rate?

It all depends on lighting. The technical side of the HVX for me is simply shoot adjust shoot adjust until I get the right look. Barry Green has a book that can help you. He is also a member here.

I just change things until it looks right. Frame rate seemed to be the problem in that video though. When doing fast moving shots in a docu style shot 60p is fine to do. It looked like you were in 24p because of the jitter.

There is a formula out there that camera operators use to tell you the fastest panning speed for the frame rate.
