For Sale: Canon XH-A1 w/ all accessories & manual, Firestore FSC w/ all accessories & manual, Wide Angle Lens (HD) & Hood, Pelican Case

Canon XH-A1 Camera - has less than 1 hour of actual head use (I've always used the FSC) and is in great condition. It's been pampered and stored in a large 1650 pelican case (included) since it was new. I've actually haven't used the camera much, it's only been used outdoors once. All other shoots were indoors.

Wide Angle Lens is also made by Canon (WD-H72 0.8x) w/ Hood

The Firestore FSC (w/ mounting accessories) has been an absolute time/money saver! It's still in great condition, I store it in the pelican case as well.

I have all manuals and accessories that came with all the above equipment, as well as some extra accessories I may be inclined to include (to sweeten the deal):

Extra Batteries (Extended Life) - For the Camera and FSC
Manfrotto 521 Camera Remote Controller
Manfrotto Mono Pod (can't remember the model number)

I'm located in Atlanta, Ga. and would prefer a local sale (or at least something within reasonable driving distance). I accept Cash or Credit Card/PayPal (all paypal transactions will incur an extra fee to offset the money they take from me).

$4,650 or make me a reasonable offer.

Thanks.

Wow. I guess people are only interested in buying used A1's at extremely low prices?

If anyone is interested, I'm willing to break the package up and sell everything separate - ONLY if I can sell the XH-A1 first. Please PM with any offers for just the camera (my offer of some extras still applies with the camera only purchase) .

bump.....

with the new XHA1s out now, used XHA1s are in the mid to low $2k's now - sucks but they're really fallen in the last month or so, with the Panny competition and new Canon models coming out.

Yeah, I kinda figured that to be an issue. Even still, subtracting a "mid $2k" from my asking price for just the camera leaves about $2k for:

Firestore FSC w/ mounting hardware & extended battery
Canon Wide Angle Lens w/ Hood
Manfrotto 521 Controller
Manfroto Monopod
Extra "Extended Life" Camera Batteries
Large Pelican Case

....with an option of "making a reasonable offer" on the table. I believe my I'm being fair & negotiable!

If you were to knock off about $1,000 you would be closer to the going rates. Not that I´m in the market though.

That wouldn't be "the going rate", that would be "a garage sale".

Anyone who could possibly find an XH-A1 w/ accessories (stock & extras), Wide Angle Lens w/ Hood, Firestore FSC w/ accessories (stock & extras), and a Manfrotto 521 Controller (all in great condition) at a garage sale deserves to get below reasonable prices.

I'm really not pressed to sell anything, I just had the bright idea of selling some gear to in turn purchase something I wanted (not needed).

Since my only replies seem to be coming from the helpful folks who aren't even in the market for the particular gear in question, I'd like to know what the "going" (separate) rates would be for:

A Canon XH-A1 (with less than 1 hour, if any on the heads)
Canon Wide Angle Lens (WD-H72 0.8x)
Firestore FSC

Well, if you think so, I wish you good luck with your sale. As for your question: If you´d monitor the board you would see these items sell as follows:
A1: ca. 2500
WD-H72: ca. 300
Firestore: ca. 900
At least that´s what I figured out while checking if I should sell similar stuff. If you can get the Sony CF-card recorder that works with the A1 for $850, why would you spend more on the Firestore, for example? And if you can get a new Panny for $3500 and a pretty new Sony Ex-1 for $5000, why would you buy an old A1 for $2800 or so? You also need to keep in mind that a package will always command less than selling the items individually because you will hardly find anybody who needs exactly what you offer. So he might consider the monopod as a throw-in for example, especially since you don´t even know which one it is...
Anyway, as I said, good luck...

I have been watching the forums (concerning the XH-A1) and my projected sale price is in a decent price range. Maybe my thoughts on the Firestore are different from the rest of the population? While everyone "flocks" to the Sony CF-card Recorder, I enjoy my Firestore for the other features people have seem to have forgotten about. Don't get me wrong, just being able to record straight to a hard drive is a SUPER wonderful thing - but I also bought my Firestores for other reasons. Which definitely makes it FAR BETTER that Sony Recorder.

Forgive me for my ignorance, I haven't checked the specs on the Sony Recorder but I enjoy the following other features with my Firestores:

1. Connecting directly to my editing suite and using it as an editing drive

2. Cataloging footage/scenes into separate folders

3. Manually choosing the file types to be recorded (does the Sony even do QuickTime HDV? or just .m2t)

4. Continuously recording for over 7 hours

5. Daisy chaining to another drive

6. Definable time lapse recording (DV)

7. Retro cache recording

8. Retro disk recording

The Sony CF Recorder maybe a great find......... for someone who doesn't already own a Firestore. It is in no way (IMO) a replacement for the Firestore, it doesn't even come close.

I guess we found the $500 - $1000 discrepancy!

Thanks for the info and suggestions though, I do appreciate the insight.

Stop beating the guy down, he is just trying to get some money for his equipment. If you don't like that he wants more than everyone else... then don't bother.

Agreed. He is asking what he is asking. He didn't ask what he should ask for it, he gave the price he wants. So if you disagree with the price, PM him, don't do it in open forum. It's just poor taste.

Well, he was publicly wondering why his stuff doesn´t sell, wasn´t he? And now he gets another free bump too...

Attention:

All listed items in the post are no longer for sale. The small discussion about my asking price prompted me to ask the opinion of a few friends. One of them is now renting the gear, which proved to be a much better alternative.
