yest another D90 first day video..dolly driven

NICE! just made me feel that much better about my D90 purchase...also have a Canon HF11 so this is mainly gonna be a DOF camera...

anyways....what settings did you use to export that and edit? thanks!!
 
cut on Premiere.
exported uncompressed avi at 24fps.
encoded to .avi Dvix at 3.000 kbs and uploaded to vimeo.

I had it in mind for some shots.
Since it was only for the sake of testing I did not go crazy about getting it right :)
I guess the only trick would be to frame for the middle.
 
I'm confused, a crop would've actually cut the video to the 2:40 dimensions, making the vimeo display it in that ratio without letterboxing, unless vimeo automatically adds the letterbox to it once uploaded...
 
when I said crop I meant matting it from top and bottom to meet the look of 2.35 ratio.
Obviously I am losing some information on top and bottom of the frame.
 
I liked the vid but it was a tad too cropped, i would have loved to see a tad more frame. You can easily tell when the vid has been over-cropped when the heads start getting cut off and you feel like a ceiling came down on the actors heads.
