HPX170 on helicam

Talk about a toy! I want one for Christmas!

Btw, it looked at one point like it was gonna run into that windmill. That would've been nasty!

Man I know a guy in utah with one of those :D

Nice write up in powdermag btw.

Here I sit pinching pennies trying to afford one of these things and you're slingin one around in the air.

Damn that footage looks good.
How smooth is this big one (IE how much shake correction are you having to use)? You using that gyro?

The heli this one is on is pretty smooth in winds to 15mph. With winds above that, you can still get great footage with Smoothcam and minimal loss of resolution.

Kicking around the idea of a 32 pound turbine ship that will haul 30 pounds of payload. I want a heli that will haul the RED all day long, and handle higher winds.

What heili were you flying in this shot?

thanks,

nice

nice

NY hat's off to you, that was some great footage...and thanks...now the helicam is on my list of "must buy"...maybe there will be some NAB deals this year?

One concern is flying my cam and the heli failing and falling to the ground...I know anything can happen, are there any safe guards....what needs to be worried about? Engine maintence etc. Also is this a two man operation...one flies one shoots?

Heli's can and do fail. It's a rare, but real possibility.

Describing maintenance and operational procedures is something that can't be done on an internet forum due to it's obvious complexity.
