Gem of a site for DIY parts

Hey,

I was looking for parts to make stuff I don't really need but want to make anyway because I'm bored and/or think I will need them in the future but in reality probably wont ....and I came across this awesome site with cheap parts that are prefect for many of the DIY film gear projects on this site.

For instance, there is a post on here on how to make a follow focus using a right angle driver. It's about $9 on harbor freight (still a good price) and .75 on American Science and Surplus. Not sure if they are the same size.

anyway, the site is American Science & Surplus.

They also have this cool dolly for cheap. Easy Movin Dolly

This may be my new favorite website.... All sorts of interesting stuff, and actually an interesting read. Two thumbs up!

Yeah me too. I hadn't even scratched the surface when I made this post and continued to browse the site. They have so many fantastic things. The optical section is fantastic!!

American Science and Surplus is awesome. I found some really inexpensive pieces of ground glass on there awhile back. I actually tried them out in my first DIY 35mm adapter, but after a few test shots I decided the glass was too grainy. But there are definitely some inexpensive components on that site worth checkin' out.

hey, I was just at the American Science and Surplus store and saw the Right Angle Driver, thought it might be a possible solution for DIY follow focus, did a Google search and found that y'all aready were in the know.

I've been in love with this site, when they had a magazine, it was my playboy, (read it for the articles..... heh heh)

I've spent many a paycheck on random stuff there...

Plus, i bought those dolly things from home depot specifically to build a dolly, they suck, they are plastic, creak and don't handle bumps at alll
