I'm selling an almost MINT condition Panasonic DVX100B + $730.00 in accessories. I have 126 hours on the cameras internal clock and only 50 hours of that is actually wear. I've used this camera to test optical equipment thru only a monitor, and put 40 working hours on the heads. I've used a tape deck to capture most of the footage that was shot, so very little wear on the heads. No chips, scratches, cracks, dings, etc.. Kept in a very dry storage at all time and have had a UV filter on since I bought it. This is a great opportunity to get a Professional camera that is pretty much brand new for a very affordable cost !!!!!!!!

- DVX100B camera - (3-CCD 24p/30p/60i Mini-DV Cinema Camcorder, NTSC, with CineSwitch Technology, CineGamma Software, FireWire Interface and New Black Sapphire Color) valued at $2,099.00 ( bought in 2006 for 3400.00)

- 1550 Pelican unbreakable, watertight, dust proof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof case valued at $200.00 w/ foam

- Follow Focus valued at $100.00

- Hood Man $25.00

- Quanta UV & Polarizer filters $170.00

- Cavision carbon fiber 15" rod system w/ riser mounting plate $169.95

$2100.00 for everything !!

.

I'm also thinking about adding my 35mm adapter, bringing it to $2950.00 if interested. Anything I need to do to sell this ASAP !

This was the PM:

Would you split your package? In taht case I might be interested in the Follow focus and the cavision rail support system. Could you please send/post pictures and prices? What model/brand is the FF?

Thanks in advance and good luck!

Sorry I'm not sure what's happening, but I'm not parting anything just yet. I'll let you know if I decide to do so.

This camera seriously is in MINT condition and comes with all of the accessories.

Is $2100.00 OBO not a fair price for this setup ?

Were talking only 40 working hours on heads and captured to another deck....

I don't understand this statement. The meter on the DVX100b only counts the time that the tape transport mechanism is running -- not the amount of time the camera is powered on. So if your meter reads 126 hours, then that's 126 hours of wear on the heads. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But that's how I read the manual.

Just shot 15 mins of test footage and had the camera on for about 1 hour and the internal clock is now at 127. To answer your question yes it goes by how long the camera is on.

Okay, here's what I've learned. As long as there is a tape in the camera (and the camera is turned on), the clock will record time. This is because the camera threads the tape and is ready to shoot. The tape is in contact with the heads. And (I believe) the heads are spinning.

I get that from this thread -- http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=101173&highlight=hour+meter

If my assumptions, based on the info in that thread, are correct, then the 127 hours is an accurate representation of the amount of head wear from tape contact. It's still a pretty darned low number.

Wish Barry Green would chime in on this. I'd love a more definitive, expert opinion. :)

It depends on whether the "power save" function is enabled. The camera either turns itself off after five minutes (if not recording), or it powers down the tape heads after five minutes. So it would be possible to have it power down the heads but still be turned on for hours and hours.
