That was rather enlightening, disturbing, and depressing. I had no idea that Darren McGavin passed, he was always a favorite actor of mine. That was the sad part. The disturbing parts were Flick doing a porn, and the look Randy had for the reunion picture.

Definitely something I'm going to look forward to doing at some point. I always wanted to see "electric sex" in person. I'm definitely asking for "A Christmas Story" on Blu Ray for Christmas. The tradition will always be to watch it on TV on Christmas Eve and day, but if, for whatever reason they stop playing it...I want to have it.

EDIT: I took a look at the Ultimate Collector's edition and on DVD, you get 5 cookie cutters, a recipe book with film photos and a custom chef's apron...with the Blu Ray Collector's, you get a strand of leg lamp lights (I guess for the tree?). I want all the stuff - you would think they'd give it to you all in the Blu Ray edition (I read that the DVD version was horrible quality).

I didn't get any of that stuff with my DVD, not even extra features... aside from the theatrical trailer. Yippee. We start watching it Thanksgiving Day, and it is a parallel as the old man and me stalk the Turkey

Those lamps are sold by the couple who bought the house and restored it. Sales of those lamps paid for the house, the antiques, and all the restoration.
BTW, if you notice in the film, "the Old Man" actually says "ragile." The F is wrapped around to the side of the crate.
