Most anonymous emails to NR have still not come to fruition... Still waiting for D90 firmware update. Until then I will continue enjoying my little D90.

Agreed, anyone can send these emails. There was a previous post showing the d400 pic. But its been rules out as fake.

Hopefully these new posted D400 specs are true.

Some of the previous rumors on this were that it would be FX, so when nothing materialized on the 1st I figured they were just more bad internet rumors. This specs it as a DX which gives me hope again, I do not expect whatever the D400 ultimately is to be FX.

But, will they allow for more manual control over the video? And if they do, does that mean that the D90 will be upgraded as well?

There are some more threads on Nikonrumors. Possibly this cam is no due until late 2009. If you wait one year in this industry you'll always get something stunningly better. 2009 will be the true year of the DSLR hybrids. That's the frustrating downside of accelerated tecnological development.

If they can work to allow full manual controls with better compression and no image wobbling and 24p it would become a wonderful piece of equipment. Nikon and Canon are so close, yet so far.

Well, if it's true and coming out soon, I'd first wait and see if there are any problems with its video mode, I mean, look at the weird stuff people are seeing with the 5D Mark II videos. Even then, I'm not sure I'd sell my two D90's to get it, I'd most likely wait until it drops down in price or see what happens with Scarlet as, to be honest, the D90's are serving me pretty well as they are.

Only if the 1080P video was so much better and it didn't have that bad of an overheating issue the D90 does would I consider trading up immediately. This is just me by the way, if you have a D90 and want to trade up, go ahead, I'm just giving my opinion on the subject.

However, I'd first like to see if there really is going to be a firmware update for the D90, particularly to add those manual controls to video mode.

If it's that good, I'll consider trading up...we shall see. We all knew Nikon was gonna pull this, use us D90 users as Guinea Pigs then release a more expensive model with much better features...

You guys haven't heard of the "black spots" problem? It's similar with the "black sun" problem the RED One has but the 5D Mark II experiences it sometimes with just normal lights. Look it up, it's weird, but avoidable.

u mean the purple spots? I had this issue when i was using red.

Though, it made a great tracking marker for sky replacement.

Sheesh, I just opened my D90 box a few hours ago and already I feel behind :)

Really liking the D90 so far though. If they could sort out more manual control over shutter and ISO and either eliminate or reduce the rolling shutter problems, it would be a serious rig. In certain capacities I think it already can be. Oh yeah, and a better codec or just let us get raw video off the HDMI port.

I've been keeping an eye on Nikon rumors for a while now. I read a post a few weeks ago by someone who allegedly spoke to a Nikon rep. The Nikon rep allegedly said that all future DSLRs would have D-Movie. They would be mad not to do it.

I can't wait, I'm getting my D90 in 2 weeks. I've got till the 15th of Jan to come up with something amazing enough to make the tropfest finals. I will succeed or die trying. Most likely the latter if my D90 doesn't behave. :Drogar-Dum(DBG):
