Does anyone know where I can quickly buy a Kensington 33407 7-in-1 Media Reader for less than $40 includes shipping? I've just ordered from a vendor that uses Amazon for checking out and I just received an email that the reader will not be shipped until December 18-24. I already ordered this three days ago and now they said it's going to be another 10 or so days before they can ship the reader. That is just rediculous. Anyway, any help is appreciated. I needed the reader in the coming weekend of December 13 and 4.

Kensingtons are scarce. Your best bet will be a Delkin (also scarce...make sure it's the right "eFilm" logo model) or one of the Hong Kong "generics." The generic cards are slow to ship, so it may be tough to get one prior to mid-December.

I recieved a few reports that there are still units hanging around in Germany....(this is where my shipment of 15 came from)

I will divulge a source soon if my contact comes through. As for now, Amazon has given me a ship date on 4 pieces.

Amazaon just gave me a shipped date for me too. Hope it arrives this coming Monday.

Can someone test the SONY VGP-MCA20 adapter?
They come in most new sony laptops.
This is not the EX1 model, but a newer one that will take an sd card all the way in.
some selling on ebay less than $20

OK.... This is interesting...... Amazon just sent me a shipping confirmation on 3 of the 4 Kensingtons I ordered
shipped out.

**Update 1 minute later** Amazon sends me a shipping confirmation on 1 Kensington to complete my order.

I just receieved my Kensignton card reader but I was quite the idiot. I purchased the wrong type of Sandisk Extreme III 16GB card. It's the bigger instead of the smaller type. Now, I have to find a buyer to buy them from me.

Anyone have any "off load" estimates of a 16gb card with adapter by means for laptop to protable HD.
Still a little concerned about my test with the Kensington, recorded about 50 minutes on and off in 1080 HQ on the Ultra II 16gb, but off load was over 40 minutes? Compared to around 26 minutes normally. Any ideas?

It will only read as fast as the SDHC card used. Ultra II cards read at 15MB/s. Which is close to 1GB/minute.

I just got another 8 of these from frontierpc.com just 2 days ago as well.

It took about 4 weeks from the time I ordered.

Got some from them last month...
It was worth waiting for.
On the other side, I had to return 2 Delkins (old type) card adapters to retailer in USA, since they were both DOA... I would try my 16GB II card with Delkin, "no media" sign. I would repeat the same thing with Kensigton- no problems.
So, I am keeping my Kensigton adapters for sure, as they look like the most reliable solution. Only that open door sucks...:(
