Hi Folks,

Just AC'd a PSA for a production relatively unfamiliar with the EX1. When I took 1/2 an hour away from set to download some media, another assistant changed the setting on the camera from 720 24p overcranked to 60P to 720 60P.

The director now has two different kinds of footage. Since both formats lay down 60 fps, is there a way to just alter the metadata to convert between the formats w/ no loss in quality, or do you have to actually to a QT export and recompress frames?

Thanks community.

Bump!

720/24p overcranked to 60fps does have a higher data rate than plain vanilla 720/60p so there will be a quality loss right there. How significant? I'm not sure but I wouldn't sweat it too much.

What NLE are you using? If it's FCP then I would try finding the clip properties/properties and find something that says "interpret clip" or something like that. Change the 720/60p clips to 720/24p and this *MAY* work. Unfortunately I don't have access to FCP or I could be a better guide than this.

On second thought...just read this thread: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/973902 . Cinema Tools or Frame Rate Converter (if this applies to the EX1) are your friends.
