HELP! Preview Sony XDCAM footage with Quicktime

Just shot 2 days worth of footage for a music video. The digital assistant transfered all the data from the cards and all looks good. It is backed up and will be professionally edited next week. I really want to preview the shots but on a Macbook Pro without Final Cut 6 I am a bit stuck. They open (.mov files) in Quicktime but only with sound - white screen). Is there an easy way I can preview my footage before it goes to the edit? What can I download?

Appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks

yes getting the clip browser software should help, but the issue is that you don't have the XDCAM codec. Try going to sony's website support download page for the pro line of products. The quick way around this of course is to have the new FCP installed, but you said you wouldnt have that. I'll try looking for the link to the sony download page

I've used VisualHub to do a quick conversion to low-res quicktime .mp4 and it worked wonders and went pretty fast.

I recently tried doing this on my MacBookPro. The only way I was able to install the drivers was to install FCP 6.0. But even then, it still didn't work. Only when I updated to 6.0.2 did the XDCAM codecs get installed. (I still think I might be missing some of them)

I´m very surprised that you can´t view the footage with VLC player. I used it on my old iBook and I could view 1080P, a bit choppy, but still
