House of Heroes Music Video (M2)

That was a good freaking video! I like the concept!

Did you guys have a dolly out there or were those steadycam shots? Also looked like you had a crane out there too.
 
Once again, you guys nailed it. Loved the concept, the beginning contrasted with the music in such a perfect way. Long song yet I was attached the whole time. Did you use straight HVX for the underwater shots?

It looks gorgeous, it's epic, hehe. The concept is really cool. It's just a great video in every way. I just love the ending, I think it's a pretty powerful video too. Of the many music videos I've seen in the last year, I really think this was one of the best I've seen. I am a huge fan of videos with a real story and a great concept and this was a great example.

WOW thank you very much! We had an awesome crew for this and a lot of people helped out which enabled us to really push the video
 
Hey Endeavor, that video looks amazing. I love that you went for the surreal feel instead of the staccato war look. I think its one of the best videos I have seen in a while also. How did you light that? It was very smooth looking.
PS. I was the one that made the front wheel drive comment. :)
 
I showed this to my former business partner, a producer with his own company now, and he loved it too. He was so impressed at the story included, I think a lot of us get sick of the hot girls, cars, bling bling, etc. So it's refreshing to see someone make a real story of meaning and attach it to a music video. I know that's what I always try to do, but never as successfully as this video. The bands I have worked with don't trust me enough, I believe, to let me go further with the story elements. Usually they just want to see themselves as much as possible so I have to fight and claw for maybe 25% of the video to be story, if I'm lucky. The last one I believe was 45 seconds story, 4 minutes performance that had a story-theme, but it was on the performance during that whole time. In the future I hope bands give me a chance to play a bit more.
 
you should shoot somewhere relatively close to Cincinnati so I can PA on a shoot and get some DP tips, because I obviously have a lot to learn.

Could you briefly describe your lighting setup on some of those shots?

Like the medium close ups on the lead singer. Great soft light...what'd you use on the shoot?
 
Without a doubt, this is the best music video I have seen. We just finished editing ours and yours definitely sets the bar a notch up! Great music. Did the musicians have this story for their song or did you guys conceptualize it? Beautiful footage!!!
