"Something in the way" is in some festivals

My movie Something in the way has been accepted in some L.A Festivals. that's huge. you can see it here. let me know what you think.

Short film called Something in the way featuring music by Draft Krimmy , Rim and Apalusa.

it was shot with the DVX100b and the letus35fe adapter.

it features actress Nadja David and Christine Beaulieu.

It's surreal story about a girl who face a new reality after a tragic event
it's been filmed in 3 hours , all alone.
 
visually i really like it. just didn't get it. maybe its 2 deep for me or i'm stupid, who knows :) i shall watch it again.

I luved that pull back when the 2nd character started talking (standing behind the 1st)

Question : how did u light that candle scene. looked good:)

and what did u do for sound?

good work..and u said u did this alone...goodstuff. time to go watch again and try and understand this shiznit :D




nb. the gunshot scared the heck outa me
 
it was easy. just take some candle and place them near the actor. i wanted more light but i didn't have any.
at least you get the point of the gunshot :)

Pascal you play a big inspiration to me. I enjoy all of your films. Artistically they are a visual treat.
 
i got a new short film that will come out tomorrow or in 2 days. i'm finishing it right now. it's a false perfume commercial. than i got my other movie called opium that i'm gonna go present at L.A. i did it with 0 money too. all alone and i,ve got a premiere that was nice. check other thread. the poster is there
 
yeh i also cant wait to see it. i also stumbled across ur stuff on youtube while look for dvx footy months ago and watched all ur stuf and was amazed,but didn't know u were on this site till recently.

anyhoo...looking forward to ur perfume ad...its for ur demo reel correct? i think i read that on ur site...i cud be wrong
 
i got another one called Black rainbow on my website. it was done in HD 2 years ago.

here's the poster of my perfume short. yeah it'S for my reel. i just sold my DVX100b to go with the sony ex1 . hd is so beautiful. i'll do the sequel for the perfume. than i'm leaving for L.A for the premiere . in like 1 month and a half i'll do 4 shorts. it's crazy. i'll update my website soon. everything is done alone with no team and no budget. casting, music etc.. is done alone. i'm sure everybody here is in the same boat.

lol..i doubt everyone here is in the same boat doing everything alone. i'm very impressed and inspired with the fact that u deliver that type of quality doing it all alone.

Regarding seeing my stuff i'm waiting on my dvx100b to arrive in 2 weeks. i'm just starting out with this kind of stuff ( and trying to soak up as much as i can from the boards) and was looking for footage on youtube for dvx stuff while i was researching the camera and stumbled on ur work. Right now thats the camera i could afford and the one that makesd the most sense since most of the stuff i'll be doing will be shown on SD sets anyway( i live in Jamaica..mostly SD world) I hope to do commercials and music videos and documentaries mostly. They do shoot HD out here but its shown on SD sets cuz most homes arent equipped with HD tv's and wont be for some time to come. So it doesnt make much sense ...so that and the cost factor led me to get the 100b. Hope to do great things with it. i'm particulary inspired with ur stuff cuz i'll probably be working alone so its cool to see that it can be done and done at a high level.

Keep up the good work...and goodluck with the stuff u have coming up even though i dont think ur gonna need luck :thumbup:
