Tap Style Guitar Studio clip

Couple of questions

1. How many cameras did you use?
2. How many takes did you do?
3. Did you use "playback" and have him work to this or just have him play more than once and edit it together?
4. How did you light it?

I really liked the look of this a lot!

Thanks!
I used just 1 cam.
We did 6 takes back to back with no click :)
We recorded on Protools and I use the live feed on the cam to sync.
I imported all 6 takes (audio and video) and align the top.
Then I cut the junk out of every track, then from the top I started to pick the best shots and made sure I was using the right audio track.
It took about 6h to edit.
I know there are more professional ways to do this kind of recording, but we where just friends playing around with toys :)
We had fun.

I used a soft box 1000w and three red head 500w. It was setup very quickly.
This Thursday I'm shooting another musician friend but I have my new Ciné Screen in the RedRock Micro. I will need less lights.
Thanks again for watching.

Thanks for posting this. What a great player. I think you did an amazing job with one camera, was that spider dolly giving you jip?? (I bought one years ago, ran some tests and stuck it behind the dryer ever since:) )Sumblime shot around 4.05 CU>DO. I also thought you directed the edit really well.

Much Love.

That was a really unique playing style, I've never seen anything quite like it. Would it be possible to share a clip on my guitar site?

Thanks for the comments!
BTW JP my dolly is now RIP :)

Capt Quirk, do you want to add the You Tube link to your site? or you want a separate file?

I would like to use a wmv, so can you send me an avi to use? Either that, or if you have a server, I could download it from there... or, you could upload it to my server?
