KxS is dead, long live KxS

Hmm just spoke with my Delkin importer.. they have 1 card in stock however i have a feeling its going to be the older model. Going to go in there in a few hours.

Unfortunately they wont order me in any cards as they only do bulk orders from delkin every few months.. great customer service there. Looks like im going to have to order through Guy.
 
I"ll just have to find out what the postage would be to NZ, it shouldn't be too bad. Fortunately you won't have to pay GST so the 10% saving wil probably cover the difference in postage. I will update my site when my cards are shipping to me and then just email me.
 
I have just discussed with Delkin their different cards and the various versions on the market, it appears I got the cards the wrong way around in release dates. Here is the official report: The compatible card with the eFilm logo that allows the card to mount flush is the OLD model. The non compatible version with the 'DD' Delkin Device logo that the SD card sticks well out of is the NEW model. The new model has only been on the market for about 1-2months which explains why there is still a lot of the old model around. Delkin are investigating the possibility of resurrecting the old model for our purposes. I should have an update from Delkin by about Wed/Thur about this card so please hang in their for a little while. To date Delkin have been excellent to liase with and they seem to fully appreciate what these cards mean to us as EX shooters. As soon as I know more, you will too.
 
Oh what a bummer. I purchased two Delkins as I was told they can be used on an EX1 with the door closed. So basically they are no better than the Kensingtons? What a waste of £100!

Yeah, I ordered from Delkin directly. Except for order confirmation by email, I have no idea what "version" I will get. Delkin customer service is not responding to my emails...
I might just get those non compatible adapters, and waste a $100...

I clearly warned everyone that I wasn't ready to release this info but was assured that as adults you could take the information at face value, yet here we are, the blame starts as I was worried it might if I prematurely detailed what I knew. The site clearly states the solution was in beta so seriously, don't any one bother start whining with stories of wasted purchases. I've wasted enough myself purchasing other adaptors to test for the rest of you when I already had heaps of Kensingtons for myself so sorry if I don't have sympathy for those who rushed in and ended up with the new model.
 
Well, in Guy's defense, the information still stands correct about which adaptor to use.
The one with the logo DD does NOT work.

You're right, it's hard to tell which one you will receive. But having said that, I would think they would send the latest current model. Which of course does not work.
 
Delkin has a phone number, try calling it, they answer everytime I call it. See their web site for the number.

You shoulder ZERO of the burden here. We appreciate what you're doing, and if people aren't adult enough to understand this is beta testing, even though you've CLEARLY defined it as such, then so be it. I jumped on the Kensingtons when things looked promising and I was glad I did. I'll probably jump on this deal when the smoke clears a little.

Frankly, I think we all owe you a paypal for your work, and the recover some of your money. I'd like to see someone take this up, and I'll gladly donate.

I'm not in this for money, I, like many here, just like helping others. Christian Offenberg has been amazing in arranging a batch of Kensington's to send to me for some Aussies, I dare say he has made nothing from it and is just being completely generous with his time and trust as well. If I get these Delkins going from them I should make a few dollars from them at least in local sales and that should cover some of the time and overheads etc

I just recieved a Nexto Video Storage for review as well, which I have started and it only cost me a HDD to put in it. This thing is so focused on the EX1 it is no funny, it even has graphics of the EX1 on the box! Of course it would be great to have an actual SxS slot but its got the next best thing, interface support for the SBAC and soon there will be a field power option for the SBAC too.

I raised this issue with Delkin and they have told me to tell you to "return to where they bought or go to our website under customer service", so persist as they sound like they should happily take the cards back.
 
Hey Guy I wasn't getting at you or blaming you at all. Just frustration at blowing a wad on the wrong item. These things happen and can be ironed out, even if the adaptors have to go back and take a while.

I can blame only myself for jumping too soon.

hahahaha, crapola. i ordered those from Adorama which i will send back, and I stupidly
cancelled orders on the kensingtons. oh well. so i lose a few bucks in shipping,no biggie.
 
Is it possible to get Kensingtons? And why are people buying so many readers? Don't you just need one or two?
 
The SDHC cards and readers are so inexpensive you can buy a handfull and stick 16GB cards in each and treat them like SxS cards. (short of overcrank, of course)

Have the Kenssingtons been discontinued? Where can you get them?
 
It appears this time they might have. In the past it took about a week to start seeing stock appearing again but alas, no so far this time.
