New Nikon Camera - dec 1 - most likely video

Yeah, I'm at a point that most of the industry is finaly catching up to the red technology and at an affordable price. \

I will not be waiting on red or anyone else for that matter to make the perfect cam. hopefuly nikon will answer the call, being that I just invested and their lenses. no more of these tease games from these companies who think they are the only ones that posses the technology that we so often seek.

Ummm, so if I read that mag article correct, liveview, but no Video d-movie mode yes? :(

Ahh well, fix the d90 bits, I'm sure most of us prefer the smaller body anyway, unless they came out with a d701 with movie mode. fx would be nice.

Pretty much what I expected. Nikon caters to landscape and studio photographers only. So why provide high ISO capability or video mode when nobody needs it, right?
I'll take my dollars to Canon. After this announcement, the 5DII looks even sweeter.

suddenly nikon got pretty conservative

but yet d-video can be implemented by firmware updates

from Thom´s site:

But I will talk about the timing and the way the launch was handled: terrible. We're back to the old fumbling, disorganized Nikon. It appears that Nikon couldn't resist announcing into the Canon 5DII launch window (which also moved). Fine. I'm all for competitive positioning. But the problem is that the D3x launch appears to be completely out of control. Nikon's left plenty of rope to hang themselves, as there's now rampant speculation on price, what the real bitwidth is, and a host of other important things. As one forum post title put it "Let the D3x bashing begin."

and YET Nikon hasn't announced anything. It's still 3days away.

So i guess the possibility of there be another camera besides the d3x is very low. It would of been slowly leaked and rumored etc.... like this d3x camera?!? Maybe its a firm update for d700 instead? Anywhoo... a few more days then we find out everything.

No, i'm not saying that, but all we have is just a photo of some manual photoshopped or not...it might have video...just no telling what they'll come up with.

Actually, there is an expose in Nikon Pro magazine on the new D3x. It doesn't have video. Just follow
the links in the thread.

Man, I was totally wrong. :(
