Are settings in HVX 200 available after shooting?

Dear all,

I am new here, and even if this question reveals that I don't really have my production together, here it goes...

I have been working on a doc for the past 4 years. I shot most of it tapeless, with the HVX200 P2, with two different dp's. My first dp was very unsure of the p2 workflow, and it was a tense situation. The second time around the dp really knew the workflow. Still, we didn't have time to really discuss formats that much, due to very pressured production circumstances (long story). Truth is, I am not sure what settings they used. I asked for 108025p, and I hope that both dp's used that. But as I am starting to match up my footage in post - I am using FCP - I am all of a sudden not so sure about the settings.

Is there a way to detect what settings were used in the files or in FCP, like a interpret footage feature?

Very thankful for advice.

Best,
S

If you have the original mxf file structure intact, you can copy it to a p2 card and take a look at the shot settings in camera.

In the FCP browser, it will tell you exactly which raster size, frame rate, etc. Just look in the browser and go to the right hand side of all of those columns in the browser window. It's all right there, plain as day. ;-)

Yup but what happens if the setings were mixed? what if you have 720 25pn and 1080i material...what do you suggest as the best thing to do Dan ?

Lets say the final result is supposed to be broadcast in PAL county and they are happy with DVCPRO50 i or p

All this talk about how important meta data is and none of it records the scene file settings only frame rate & resolution, I think it is very important to have the ability to pull up the camera scene files through meta data espicially if you go back and forth to several projects for a long period of time.

If you only knew how many times I have looked at some really nice clips and had no idea what the scene files were I used :)

Where is the hvx suggesstion form?
