Help with Nudity in a Sex Scene

I shot a sex scene with Elliot Gould and an old lady, gross but funny as hell. They gaff tapped her ta'ta's and wrapped a blanket around Mr. Gould. My first shoot in LA and that's what I shot. (I didn't tell the family).

I watched "Rosemary's Baby"(1968) last night... first time in... well... since it was in theaters (I may have seen it elsewhere since but can't remember...)

Anyway, in the 'impregnation by Satan' scene, there were two things that occured to me... first, is that a stunt torso of the Mia Farrow character... and second look at all those old nude people who were the witch's coven in audience of the 'imprenation' process...

And further... third thought, is gee this would still be rated R after all these years...

And of course... there's the legends... Polanski lost his wife to the murderous Manson gang... and John Lennon lost his life in front of his appartment, located in The Dakota building used to film "Rosemary's Baby".
 
Why isn't there a discussion about the female being nude? is there an expectation she'll have no problem flaunting it? ...... on second thought, this shoot might be a real technical problem for you, maybe we should all fly in & assist, of course we might have to schedule lots of reshoots ;)

As far as I know, full female nudity was made illegal sometime in the 80's. And if not illegal, the studios and distributors didn't want to deal with the puritanical outcry of sexploitation.

So, now we are treated to Arnie buns... and similar... frontal male nudity is still pretty much out.
 
Are you serious? Is full nudity illegal in the US? That is...really funny. Here in Finland there is no problem whatsoever showing every little crevice. Well I guess if you do an extra close-up on the genitals there might be an outcry...
 
Full nudity is not illegal, as there have been plenty of films that show females in full frontal. Male full frontal is still just not done, and after seeing Space Cowboys, I am glad. What you will not see is full exposure, penetration, or any genital contact at all.

There's actually been something of a resurgence in male full frontal nudity of late. Especially in comedies. For example, Jason Segel in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and Jason Mewes in "Zack and Miri Make a Porno".

In regard to women, Meg Ryan was pretty nude fully nude in "In The Cut". Just crank up the brightness. And that's something you don't have to do to see Mark Ruffalo's nudity in the same film. It's lying there on his stomach while he speaks.
 
There's a big difference between "illegal" and "frowned upon by the MPAA". Look at "Nine Songs" or "Lust, Caution". You can make a legitimate film with real, unsimulated sex if you want. No one is going to arrest you. Whether you have a hard time getting it distributed is another question.
 
"Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story" The scene when they seem to have just finished an orgy and Dewey's on the phone, there's a dragged out, pointlessly long peroid where a man is standing next to him and all you see in the frame is him from the waist down asking him if he wants coffee or something like that haha

That scene was hilarious. And then you have the shot from Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay during the Bottomless party. *Shudder*
 
ummm..no matter what he uses...warn the woman he might still get aroused!

i did a sex scene once and even though we both had something on below the waist...during rehearsals...well....yeah...ok, did my ego a little good but still a bit embarrassing for him.

BUT...once ALL the crew was standing around and we went to shoot, his focus was altered and his 'parts' did not react the same!

but seriously...warn your actress....as flattered as i was i was also a bit verklempt when my 'then' boyfriend kept asking if they guy got aroused because i tend to be honest and this was not something i had been prepared for. i figured there would be too many distractions and no way the guy would...'react'...
