I never got real stars up on the sky for this one.

Tweaked it a bit more. It is tough to get a sharp picture with a little consumer camera and when doing an HDR of trees... though I don't think there was anything more than a slight breeze if anything...

YES!!!! Caught you! :D

I spent quite a bit of time trying to make it as close to believable as possible... I thought the lights being blown out would sell it too, but I took a separate picture and PS'ed it for a while trying to make it feel like it might be real while retaining some of the craters...

It was a 15 second exposure and a 1/60th exposure for the moon, both at ISO 80. I also made the moon a bit bigger and added a bit more flare and glow around it.

you made my day.... though I bet you looked at it real quick but you still made my day :)

Always toying with my emotions:(

Ha! kidding. Now that you mention it, I can tell, but at a glance it looks great. I still think it's a really visually interesting shot:thumbup: even if you did cheat:beer:

Here's a series of white bengal shots I took while diving off the coast of India. Okay, I shot these at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA. They love the water and the tiger guys there toss chunks of meat into the water, behind a viewing glass of astonished onlookers. You can see the reflections of the people in the glass.

These were taken with a Canon 5D and a Canon 70-200mm 4.0 lens.

Yea man, I am just happy to see that I could evoke that emotion in people!
So you can totally see it as me doing it FOR you.
Glad you didn't look too closely or the illusion would have not worked.

OMFG!!! I just shat myself! hahaha... not sure what would be better, to turn around in your pool and see a shark or this dude coming right at you! Holy crap!

Here is one of the HDR panoramas I took of the smoke from the fire. This one is composed of three bracketed 8MP shots. I have an other that I am working of that is about 8 HDR shots into one panorama.

Very bored last Friday...
I wasn't in the mood for anything so I used plugins (urban acid) and tweaked them a little. I usually mess around with levels and color balance to get the same kind of results.
Not much merit this time... oh well :/

What you guys may not be able to appreciate out of this one is how inclredibly hard it was to snap it with this particular lady bug being on crack and running full speed around my finger, round and round... having to sift though the horrible menus in my little Powershot and having to be zoomed in all the way at 140mm equivalent to be able to get some DoF out of the camera... :) the fall of on the finger is exaggerated, didn't do that good of a job on it though, didn't put that much time into, it but it makes it look like a real camera

Given the work that Tom does at timescapes.org I doubt that the milky way shot is fake. He'll have to speak up for himself though as to what he did there. Ever since I saw that shot the first time I was hoping he'd mention something about it besides "never underestimate a kit lens" or something like that.

I don't remember if I posted a pic or just a link, but I saw a photo from a cave in the desert looking out towards a night sky. It was so phenomenal. Not sure, but I think it was a National Geographic thing. Wish I could remember where I posted that ....
