Focus Groups

Focus Groups

Tonight we held a focus group screening. We showed the latest cut of NGL, which is all done, aside from final CC, and final score.

The value of focus groups is to see how the film paces out. We had a pretty good rating overall, though some felt it was a bit too rushed. We take everyone's thoughts into account. Our audience for this particular group was a group of about 30 college age Christians. We had a really positive response overall on the film, and a couple areas we'll be looking at to see if we feel we need to make some changes...

Overall a great response tonight, and I'm super jazzed about this latest cut!

Impressive that you want to make the best product!

Awesome way of thinking, if it were me I would have started a fight.

A REALLY cool comment...

A REALLY cool comment...

I received this comment the other day from someone who has seen NGL (a few cuts ago) and he said this about the film.... (this has been slightly edited for spoilers)

"I like NGL because it is very real about religion and the beliefs of the characters...

And with all that it's real life drama ... it's a story I wouldn't be surprised to hear is true. The characters are living and experiencing truth right in front of our face, they aren't doling out tidbits of wisdom from their "Our Daily Bread" devotional in every scene.

It's because what she (Heather) is telling him (Jeff) about how she's changed is also lived out in front of him. It's her "living her faith". Not because she keeps slipping tracts in his lunch box, or quoting scripture non stop, or passing along church-ese in every conversation."

Sounds like a winner, Brandon.

Cheers,

San Diego Focus Group

In a few weeks, we'll be holding another focus group for NGL. It will take place on Friday, December 12th in San Diego, California. Members of four different church's in the SD area will be invited to the screening. We will be showing, hopefully, a completed film with full finished score, and color grading. More news to come soon!

BUZZ.... and the internet...

BUZZ.... and the internet...

The internet is amazing... it's free (or close to free) and can be used as an amazing marketing tool...

We haven't done a lot in the way of marketing for NGL yet, seeing as how a release date is still pending, but we have done a little in way of grass-roots internet marketing...

As of today our facebook group has 902 members, and we've had over 650 sign ups for updates on our website... the increase has been steady over the past few weeks...

The point is, the internet is a powerful tool... and we hope to use this in the coming months in an even bigger way.

For those who haven't seen the teaser trailer yet, it's been added to the first page... and I'll post it here as well... and if you want to view it in HD please check out the link in my signature...

If you guys need a Northern California perspective, let me know ... we'll get it set up :)

Can't wait for this to be in theaters!

In your restaurant scene... please add background noise... saw Fireproof (can't post there) yesterday and seemed very odd in the cafeteria scenes no background noises... that really bugged me...

Now I guess I have to take back my statement about Kirk Cameron.. I think he had to get a few more wrinkles for us to buy him as not being Mike Sever (not sure if spelled right).... but I thought he was the best part of the film...

Over all I thought Fireproof was a good film... a few mistakes... but again seen mistakes in bigger budgeted films that took me out of the story... these didn't...

Looking forward to No Greater Love....

Post-Production Update - HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Post-Production Update - HAPPY THANKSGIVING

We have an exciting few weeks ahead here at Coram Deo Studios. First off, Michelle Tumes is about a week away from finishing the musical score for No Greater Love and it sounds simply amazing!

Our San Diego focus group screening is all set for December 12th, and we just added an additional screening in the northern Los Angeles area for the 16th. Lord willing, after we review the notes based on these two screenings we will have a "locked" (completed) picture!

We're still under a 'hush, hush' regarding the business/distribution side of the film - but thankfully there have been no red flags in that area!

Overall, we could not be happier with the film and the positive effect it has had on those who have seen it. We'll keep you posted as news continues to develop.

Thanks for your prayers and continued support, and thanks for continuing to invite your friends to join this facebook group.

Everyone here at Coram Deo wants to wish you and your family a fantastic Thanksgiving.
