Record uncompressed 14-bit (4:4:4) on your HVX200

I found it interesting when reading about the new RED recording modules that they will have an attachable Ethernet interface.

I would not be surprised AT ALL if Juan sold the tech to RED and is working with them specifically on gigabit ethernet recording to approved laptops (likely apple-intel).
 
i really would like to know what happened to Juan. That guy was surely a talent. With today's available tech- COnvergent design's capture boxes, etc, Juan might have done breaktrough things with gear such as the Canon 5d Mark II, or the HPX300. Imagine what he could've made with an HPX300!
 
No one has bid yet.....please someone, do the honors! I don't have the cash, or else I would!! We have less then 3 hours left!
 
I really want to bid but I can't justify $4,000 with Scarlet coming within the next few months and I don't have the coding expertise to try to get it to work. If the software already supports it that's one thing but it doesn't come with the cable, so where am I supposed to get that? Plus, how did he get this camera? Wouldn't this be locked away somewhere or with Juan himself? Add to the fact that I don't currently have a need for an HVX200 as it is. There's just too much to consider with this. I hope whoever does win will definitely keep us informed on their results.
 
The cable won't be that hard to figure out...it's only a USB2 connection, done through that funky thing on the side....and it seems that from all that's been heard that the pre-existing software for the dvx hack supports this bugger....gosh dern! if only I had the cash, lol!
 
I wish somebody else would make a "Hydra" for the HPX170 that also records it's footage to the fast E-series P2 cards. Not sure if it will be fast enough though, or if the P2 would even allow a different codec to be recorded. But hey, nearly anything can be hacked so there's hope. :)
 
Wtf I missed this. I would have bought it straight up. I wonder what you have to do to get the lemo connection working.
 
By the way. I wish Juan and team would come back and hack the MKii or GH-1. Preferably the GH-1 for cost. Talk about insane + sick.

They had another hydra 90 days or so ago that sold for $1800 because it had a broken lcd screen, the view finder was ok, I almost bought it just to take it apart. I think 6 were made????
 
No way. For only 1800? Damn. I see it's relisted as well. I wonder if I can snag it for less then open it.
