I woke up early...

I woke up early...

...and can't believe what my eyes see! Am I still asleep?
This can't be real - I bought my HMC151 a month ago.
35mm sensors for Scarlet at $7K? 11+ or 13+ latitude? 12, 16 bitdepth? SLR lens mounts...
The only wish I have: >30fps on Scarlet with 35mm DOF. Maybe S35 or FF35 sensor will be capable of this at lower resolution...
Anyway - I start saving money now.

Yeah I thought it was a joke when Kholi first posted it actually. That he'd been REALLY busy photo-shopping and writing copy. I laughed out loud at the 3D part. Then I looked at all the detail in the lens descriptions and already existing Red hardware, etc. and realized this was no joke.

I just saw these on the reduser form and I basically told Jim that I love him. Seriously, but in a manly way.

Straight up Awsome!! Now its just a matter of writing that great script!!!!

incredible ! definately worth the wait ! so many options now for scarlet, that really shows how they listened!!! I am blown away....counting my cash right now *lol*

Wow. Wow. Wow. Well it looks like I'm definitely getting a scarlet... but which one!??!!? Love the options... Love the configurability and the 617 - wtf! I like the whole system and the way they've set this up. Thanks for posting here Jack!

Well thanks for the re-org then! Helps us less informed wade through it all and get to the good stuff! Excited!

I know I'm a cold evil son of a ***** for saying this, but I'm really dying to see what the competition will offer now.

I was just talking with a red one owner friend and we both wondered what the depth of field will be like on those monster chips.....cameraman to director: "which eyelash do you want in focus now ?"

Oh boy, oh boy ho boy, I almost got a heart attack reading that specs.

There goes my plan for a HPX and D90,

.....sorry Panasonic and Nikon.

Any reason why Red posted those already?
Officaly there would be a view hours to go till the announced statement.

Frank

....28K for $55k!!
That´s almost obscene! What a slap in Arri´s face.

Edit: Good that we already know it. Red´s servers are kompletey down on the knees.

I hope Nikon and Canon are watching this. Red's price/specs they have no chance.

Not only them, but also panasonic, sony, etc...
Companies like that don't just sit down and play dead. This was a kick in the nuts for these companies because Red just took them A LOT of money by taking one huge step instead of 10 of 15 steps that could have taken maybe 10 years and A LOT of cameras and upgrades. So far Red was an elite product but now a more prosumer/consumer crowd will have access to their equipment and this when things may start to get ugly for the other companies.

Good point ;) But... got an idea - at this resolution you can shoot everything with wide angle lens at huge DOF - imagine the cropping freedom you'd have - shooting long shot, medium and close-up at the same time, LOL.
Seriously I can't think of any use of these big chips other than shooting landscapes. Wonder what low-light performance is gonna be with chip of that size, by the way...

Oh... how sick to death I am of RED... Is this supposed to be a joke???

Who even cares about the 20k mysterium badoozle what what???

I AM RELEASING A CAMERA - IT WILL BE 100K COUNTRY SIZED SENSOR AND DO A GAZZILION FPS AND COST ONLY $6000!!

WHATS THE POINT?? ARE WE ALL THAT CHILDISH AND STUPID???

Their track record is HOPELESS.... Have they even completed their orders for red one???

Anyone who indulges in this is plain BORED!

This got my attention. Well Done. I am one of the Red skeptics, but this got me excited.

Now until I can click ad to cart button at the Red store I will think this is a great concept.

But still, Brilliant idea. I will really be excited when this comes down from the land of unicorns and good ideas and becomes a product.
