I have a shoot coming up and well I had not thought about this untill now
when I see behind the scenes shoots I always see client lcd's all around
so that the director/producer etc can see what the camera sees

how do you do this wirelessly or wired? say I wanted to connect my hvx200 or hpx170
to a lcd that is 1080 native and has:

1 x HDMI-HDCP
5 x Stereo Audio Line In
2 x DVI-HDCP
1 x HD-15 VGA In
1 x Audio Line In
1 x S-Video
1 x Stereo Audio Line Out
1 x Composite Video In
2 x Component Video In

what are my options to see my preview in the lcd in HD both wirelessly and wired?

do they use some kind of component receiver and then send the image to other lcd's?

Thanks guys

I'm assuming you're talking about big budget movies and the behind the scenes extras. If they're shooting on film they don't need an HD monitor because they aren't looking at the monitor for focus and/or color, just composition. The signal isn't HD. With the monitor you have though, use the component video in.

I am talking about when shooting HD, I have seen the lcd's on RED and hpx500 shoots
my question is how do they send the component signal to all of these big LCD's? and no cables so they have to be doing wirelessly

Good quality wireless video transmission systems cost a lot more than an HPX. They are usually rented. There are companies in the LA411 that rent these systems.

I figured you were going to say that, I smelled some kind of component receiver or something of that sort, so I guess its the good old long ass cables for me huh?
