This is animation and not footage I'm afraid I don't know if that's allowed here, but this is still a short film.

Thought I'd showcase my talents a little, there is little dialogue in this mood piece, it takes some elements of silent Hill(the games), evil dead 2, and a few odd ideas of my own. I figure that since tomorrow(2 hrs from now) is Halloween something scary might be appreciated being posted here.

But I dont know if this is scary or not, my opinion doesnt matter as I'm the creator of this so naturally viewers opionions are what matters.

So I'll leave it up to you, is this scary?
You may need to update your flash player to watch it.

Glad you gents approve, though I dont like the use of the word 'cartoon' as a cartoon is really something for children, I prefer 'animation' myself :)

Actually many cartoons (including Bugs Bunny and Betty Boop) were not for kids. They just ended up that way.

Actually I used a variety of Akira Yamaoka's silent Hill music, first game, second game, and fifth game. The man is just insanely talented musician and really has his own instantly recognizable style that just speaks to me. I couldn't NOT use his amazing music for this short.

I thought the ending was perfect myself, I didnt want something ambiguous, or happy, or even a last minute 'GOTCHA!' I opted to just end it in a more memorable way.

Even the theme itself is a lot of Silent Hillish. It's a very good job, but it's too bad you didn't developed some kind of story here.

This way, we have 2 (or 3?) monsters who attacked the girl in the bathroom, and except the visual/audio reference, we hardly see who's the good guy here and who's the bad one. (in SH series, the protagonist is usually a sinner, so that may be the case in here). Also, this is scary by the mentioned elements (visual/audio, jumping effects etc) but not the story-wise since we don't know anything about the girl or whatever.

I know you didn't make this for Oscar or whatever, but I think it would be best if you used your talents to create you own unique story, with a little char development. This is very good animation, at one moment it reminded me of David Firth and his work (that guy shows that animations can be really, really sick).

That'd be nice to do. I had a good 30% of my original concept I didnt get a chance to use because of time constraints among other things.

But I dont know if/when I'll get a chance to film this really So for now its just in the back of my head with the rest of my ideas waiting for the oppertunity to present itself while I work on other projects and go to work.
