Known EX1 problems - please add to my list.

Ex1 production friends,

I have owned 2 EX1 cameras for the last 10 months. They have served me well. I have produced several music videos, and a ton of other projects. They are amazing cameras. I have kept the cameras very busy and have not had a chance to deal with the issues. Because I am nearing the warranty expiration I need to send them to be serviced for some of the issues I know about.

I know at least one of my cameras have the slight vignette problem and the tendency to lose focus when pulling out. Both of them have the battery drain issues. They both need the firmware upgrade. Please add any other issues to my list and ways to check if my cameras have them:

1. Lens Vignette
2. Battery Drain
3. Firmware upgrade
4. Focus issues

IR issue, where blacks turn colors under tungsten light. From another thread it seems Sony "doesn't know about" this issue but you might try asking.
 
Also, Is there any of the service centers which is better to work with here in the US? I know they have centers in San Jose, LA, and NJ. Let me know if you have had good / bad experiences with any of these.

Zoom your lens to full wide, stop it down quite a bit, point it at the open sky or any bright, uniformly lit wall and see if you have any crud inside the lens. Mine had some nasty stuff and they replaced the lens.....twice.
 
The LCD monitor screen very susceptible to scratches. Cheap coating scratches easily. Of course knowing this after the fact is too late. Suppose you could put a screen shield as on a i-pod or other monitor but not sure if that would inhibit focus.
Anyone have an idea for replacing scratched shield (not the whole LCD).
