Hey all,
This is a short film me and my friends made.
Shoit with the HVX200, stock lens and aproduced for about 100 dollars.(Minus camera price...but it was purchased not just for this film...)

I lit with home depot ligths (the kind you see a character hold in his hand about halfway through the film).
and we had no boom operator...just a microphone (rode NTG-2) on a stand.

It's a strange genre...I wasn't setting out to please any particular crowd here, just wanted to make something that was fun and was great practice for us.
I guess it's a comedy/suspence..

Let me know what you think and if there are any questions I'd love to answer.

Thanks for checking it out!

Are you saying your on firefox? or the film only plays on firefox?
I have it playing on my macpro (not a "book" though...) and it's on firefox.
I'll look into the problem...

thanks for wanting to see it though. :)

Interesting film, I have a macbookpro with firefox, ran fine for moi!

Some really great shots in there, especially the stuff with the blue LED contraption.
Could have been cut down a little but it really drew me in a lot at times, sound effects played a big part in that.

Nice Job!

thanks Yeahfilms,
I am particularly proud of the shot "Through" the LED contraption where the guy is coming out of the fort. it was one of those last minute "hey, this is cooler then the basic mastershot, let me try this." things.

And I too believe it could be cut down...I think that about almost every film I make...but I figure it's fine as it is and under 20 mins which is most festivals time limit...so I'm leaving it for now, but perhaps I will go back and trim spots in FCP after I have a longer break from it (only been a week since I finished). Though I think it has enough scene changes to kill any severe boredom.

any particular part who felt this though?

I already did a massive cut on the "telling the story" part near the beginning, where I dissolved the shots of the guy listening and overlapped some of the key story dialogue. originally that part was a good 1 1/2 minutes longer.

and I'm not sure why it isn't working for you guys...It works on my safari...
odd, indeed...

hate to do this and bump the thread, but I'm curious....I see there are 90+ views, and only a couple replys (besides myself). While other short film threads have less views but pages of replies.

is it that no one could view it (The problem a couple people have stated in this thread) ? if so, I'll defenitly look into that again...

or...was it terrible? I love good criticism. I don't hear enough of it just showing my friends and family.

I'm just shocked as I think it's pretty good considering I lit with home depot and with a 35 adapter.

well, I promise I won't bump again if this dies. I would just like my work seen, I'm sure you understand. Sorry, but thanks for watching!

Won't play for me. I get the tab to install active X control which I accept and then I just get a question mark - no video.

trying to figure out but cant

I see its a mov file, so quick time should play well, what codec is it in?
Upload it to vimeo, so we can all see it.

Ha.
Upload your flipforMac
That fixed the problem
:) will watch it later and give you a good long review to make your folowing even more awesome
