The advantage is to be able to power all of your components - camera, LCD monitor, etc. using the same BP-U30/60 batteries instead of several different batteries/chargers.

Thank you smoothmc40, getting ready the EX style plug for the adapter, so you can power a SBAC-US10, camera, or any accessory using that plug.

Thats fantastic. Could you put multiple outputs on one base plate to power a few small iteams at a time? For example (and you are probably already thinking this), the SBAC-US10 as above, and a 12v output for the Nexto ND-2725 Video Storage unit. That would create the smallest and easiest SxS field back up unit avaliable.

no, but they ship a car 12v DC adaptor (car cigarette plug) so if you have some way of connecting that it would power the device.

Some time ago I made a V-Mount power supply with two connectors comming off it, one 4 Pin XLR (Cannon) and one Car cigarette lighter plug. With a Vmount that thing has powered many a varied devices.

The JVC BN batteries are 7.2V, not 14V. So this adapter would not power a 12V monitor or any 12V device using the JVC battery.

Well I got it a long time ago and don't remember the model number and don't have a manual to check power consumption, but it uses a 35w bulb and if I go with 35w a 56wh battery will give me only 1.6 hours of power, ouch!

That is correct, 35W bulb is going to require a fairly high power, just as a point of reference, the EX1/EX3 camera uses about 1/2-1/3 of that. You might be better off with any LED on camera lights as they use ~10-12W.
HTH

I don't really want to buy another camera light right now. I don't use it all that much. Besides those LED lights seem expensive. Do you sell them?

My PAG light has a XLR4 connector.
I was looking at your website and there are several options for connectors for this adapter but the only one included in the $39 price is a 2.1mm DC plug? All the other like the XLR4 you need to pay extra?
As I understand you can have 2 plugs with one adapter?
I would have to think which other plug could be useful besides the XLR4.
I was thinking of getting one of these adapters plus a S-8U62 replacement battery to power my PAG light.
Since the S-8U62 seems to be 63WH instead of 56WH it should give me a bit longer power for the PAG at 1.8 instead of 1.6 hours right?

Sttratos, it seems that for what you are trying to do 2 plugs are not needed, as the battery would be powering the light only. The S-8U62 battery is a good solid piece, but their (SWIT) capacity rating is a bit on the high side according to the tests we did here. I would expect it to deliver about the same run time as the Sony BP-U60. In general, if you ask your battery to power a high power load like a 35W light, you are really pushing the limits, making it age faster. It can even trip an internal safety fuse. You might be disappointed in the end.

I would recommend any battery belt or battery pouch or Anton Bauer (or similar) large brick with at least 2x capacity in wh, in other words if you have a 35W light, your battery would be 70Wh capacity at least, or better 90Wh capacity. Look at NRG, Bescor, etc.
