NEW 1024x768 HD Monitor

I have a Carrion with the Panasonic battery plate. To make a rock steady mount, I took the parts from the RedRockMicro Shoulder Mount and an extra 9" rail and attached it to the back of the camera rails (I have 18' rails that extend under the camera). I've also attached it to the front as well. The shoulder mount might not have been intended for that but it sure works great. Total cost is way less than the Zacuto, plus you get a shoulder mount too. If anyone wants a picture I'll put it together and get a pic to post.

Anyone using the Tekkeon batteries to power the Carrion? If so, what kind of battery life are you getting? Also, is there a mount available that allows you to mount a Tekkeon to the back of the Carrion? It seems like a very viable solution also because they charge so darn fast and are very reasonably priced to boot. To be honest, I really don't think I'd want to do that anyway with the extra weight, but rather just place the Tekkeon into one of those tool pouches with belt clips. Do the standard plugs that come with the Tekkeon include the correct fitting plug for the Carrion? If not, which plug would I need?

Also, can the Carrion be powered via 4-pin XLR?

Thanks for any input.

Yeah, I'd love to see some pics of that, Mark. I'm trying to figure out the best config for my Redrock Shoulder Mount + HV20 + Carrion... everything so far has been waaaaaay too heavy and unstable-feeling to do handheld for any length of time.

Luis, not trying to be a pain, just trying to hit all the communication channels. ;-)

Checking on status of Carrion A ordered back in June. Haven't heard anything.

Order was placed under the name Steve McCartt, Family Worship Center, Florence, SC.

Thanks!

Ok...... I've finally received my Carrion A monitor with the Pana. Batt. Plate and FW saver.

After a May 26 order date and a Oct. 23 Fed Ex delivery (you do the math)....... I'm happy........

I did some tests yesterday for quality and for operation.

I must say the picture quality is great..... I have not used any other type of monitor (Marshall, Panasonic, etc...) so I don't have a reference. I can only say.... outside, inside the quality of the picture is outstanding. I recommend some kind of hood when outside (depending where the sun is). I used the HD component cables for HVX to Carrion connection..... haven't tested with S-Video yet. Also great pic. quality when playing back clips from P2 card.
I attached the Pana. Battery plate and connected 2 batteries... works great.
I used it mounted to top of HVX..... I had an adapter that slides into the light shoe and a male 1/4 " at other end that screwed into the Carrion.
My heavy duty Noga arm was delivered earlier in the week, but had 1/4" male on one end and 3/8 or 1/2 on the other end... the HVX and Carrion has 1/4" females..... so wasn't able to use the arm.

All in all, I'm pleased.......... EXCEPT.... Luis, I did not receive a manual or any type of instructions. This would be helpful especially when usng the on-screen menu and other features.

So I'm know looking for a decent hood to use..... any suggestions?
Has anyone had the problem with the Noga arm... different size connections... any help would be appreciated.
I plan to purchase rails and a Matte box in near future, so also looking into connecting this way.

Thanks Luis........ is a manual available.... either printed or on-line?

Luis, if I do the math am I looking at waiting another 3 months for my monitor? A rough idea is what I am after.

Thanks

One question I have about the monitor - it has options for 1.0, 1.6, and 2.2 gamma. I've been running at 1.0 gamma, but is there a reason I'd want to monitor the camera image at 2.2 for instance? It makes the monitor much darker and doesn't seem to reproduce more accurate brightness levels when doing so.

Received!!

Received!!

Received my Carrion on Friday. Mounted it up on Saturday and shot with it Sunday morning. All I can say is -- DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT!!

I didn't get as much time to work with it as I would have preferred and I'm going to be away for a week. I'll put it through the paces next week.

Photos won't do it justice, but I'll post what I have (don't laugh at the cabling, I was too excited to do it right):

As I said, the pic doesn't do it justice. The color absolutely POPS! Great sharpness too!

Anyone know of a good source for the JVC 22-pin EVF plug? I'd love to create a cable to pull component (and power?) from the EVF port to feed to the Carrion.

This pic shows it a little, but I was amazed at the wide viewing angle -- great for training new camera operators.

Thanks Luis for an awesome product! You'll be seeing an order real soon now for two more. :-Love(DBG):
