Official Twilight Fest Rules

Just a general question regarding the leader? I was told that nothing can run over the DVX leader that it must be as given aside from a black and white color change. How then did some films successfully run music over the leader without being disqualified?

Not that it is much of an issue. Just confused.

I guess it's like a 20th Century Fox leader. In most cases its just as it is, but there's a number of examples where the film twist it in it's own way (Futurama did 30th Century Fox, I think Matrix colored it green etc.)

What I wanted to say is, dvxuser creativity knows no bounds. Buahuahua.

Yup. Switched mine to B&W midway since that was permitted.

I'm not bothered by others playing with it a bit. As long as it's not against any firm ruling it should be fine.

I checked all my PMs and the Leader thread to see if i was the one who told you that (as I don't recall saying so). I don't see anything, so I assume you got that message from someone else?

We don't want the content of the leader changed (don't play with the image/lettering/etc/etc, but the audio was not a consideration.

In the original thread I made this comment:
Larry R said:
The provided leader includes audio, but you are allowed to leave the audio out if you choose.

While I don't mention there that you can let your audio lap over, that was my intention.

I'm apologize if this is something you wanted to do with your entry and were unable to do to a misunderstanding.

Mattykins ... looks like you caught me. Sorry for the confusion. In retrospect, it makes sense to allow audio to overlap, so going forward this will be the rule.

Regarding outside promotion, the rule currently is to not pimp your film until after voting closes. The Nov 1 rule allows you to have your film in other festivals as long as they don't screen prior to that date.

You are always welcome to tell people about the fest, you just can't pimp your own film. You can say, "Come check out our film festival" but not "Come check out my film ... vote for me!".

When mentioning the festival you can tell that you have an entry, but any links should be to the festival thread and/or the download page ... not to your individual thread and/or film download.
