Formula Drifting - inFlux Pro. Film Look

Went out to Irwindale and met up with a good friend to film his friend drifting during the Qualifying session for Formula D. Got some pretty sweet footage and threw together a sick little video.

Yes, it's over-done with color and vignettes. Yes... I still think you'll like it. It's 8 Minutes.. but there is definitely worth-while footage throughout, and 4 sweet little mini-segments.

Let me know what you think.. I know it's a tad long @ 8 minutes, but I wanted to throw in extra footage for those that are on those teams and those that like sitting back and just watching some drifting.

I would highly suggest turning up the volume, sitting back, and enjoying.

That is sick dude! 1/1000 shutter looks awesome for this kind of thing, great job man, I really liked it.

Nice editing in the beginning to the batman music, very funny. Where did you get the special effects sounds , they went well.
It was a little long after half way through i thought it was a bit boring because it was mostly the same shot of the cars side-sliding, but nice job.

I used FCP for CC.

MrJoe, I know the shorts became a little repetitive etc.. but I only had access to a few spots and that one was the best. I decided to leave in more footage for those that like to sit back and just watch.. But I do see what you're saying, it is a bit repetitive.

I got the sound effects from a huge library of mine, then re-engineered them with other effects.

Very rich and vibrant colors. Great work with the edit. What where your scene setting?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Amazing footage man. Were you using the Magic Bullet plugin for CC? This was some cool stuff. Keep it up!

^^ yes.. they are Weather Settings, haha.

I didn't use any plugins, just 3-way color correcter + matte/mask in FCP.

Awesome footage. Did you always use manual focus, or did you use autofocus for any segments? Just curious, as the focus seemed excellent throughout the video at various ranges.

So my name is Dan I was at Irwindale also shooting for a friend and a proud member of the DVXuser forums....now that is weird. Funny thing though, it was my first trip out with my HPX-170...my footy hasn't even been dumped onto the towers hdd though it's still on the laptop :( Very cool cut though, I had to spend my time in the pits shooting some BMX stuff so I didn't even get to shoot that much of the event. I did however shoot what I did from the same back corner you got your stuff from. Maybe i'll see you there next year or in Long Beach!

that looks insane, well done. Is that ur m coupe? If you ever think of selling it, I'm totally gonna make you an offer. One of my favorite cars, super rare, and the best part is that most people don't really get why they are so sick.
