"Scorpion 5" short film

Just saw this. Cool trailer! The footage looks really nice. The music is great too, I'm interested in seeing the film.

Oh I am a regular now. :) As apposed to before when I was just chillin' on the forums every now and then. I haven't been on AIM in a while, but I will definitely have to check in and see what you're up to! I've been following your threads with a lot of interest man.

Cool cool... yeah we should def. catch up sometime... ok, now to quit using this as a private chatroom, and back to S5... lol

Very cool trailer – although now I'm a bit afraid that you've beaten me to the punch with a project I was working on that seems a bit similar! But I guess Ridley beat us both? Anyway.

I'm not 100% sure what's going on, exactly, but I'm trying to listen on my crappy laptop speakers in a noisy room, so that's probably part of the problem. A couple lines got lost. But I get the gist, and that's cool.

Not so sure about the closing bit on the trailer. Makes it seem like the whole point of the movie is whether or not this guy can get the Medal of Honor, which is a little weird? And the answer is so abrupt, I was expecting more. Of course, they only give out the MoH posthumously these days, so maybe there's more meaning to that line than it seems?

Good work guys, Happy Halloween!

Great looking trailer, love some of the desert shots, especially the reflection off his bad ass aviators ;)

So now I listened to it with good speakers in a nice environment and I have to say the sound on this trailer is pretty tight. Excellent work there. The only complaint I'd have about it is the room tone really obviously comes in and out on those last two lines at the end, sort of distracting.

I did notice the nice closeup on the winder for your airsoft gun magazine, haha. And seriously, fingers off the triggers! But I'm sure Joe Public wouldn't ever notice or care.

Geoff is a great DP
indoor lighting was very good brandon
film looked very solid

story is meh, but still very cool.
Sound design took the cake

Overall, Awesome!

The outdoor stuff would make a nice little trailer for an action movie. The civilian sequence should be discarded in its entirety. It doesn't work on any level.

It's a very valuable lesson in making movies though. A lot of nice shooting. I'm sure it was fun to shoot. That's the best part of filmmaking anyway... for me at least.

Congratulations on completing a movie. Digital moviemaking is really a safe way to make movies like this. Good luck with it.

The older CIA guy was very good, the lighting and camera work were very good, nice music and sound too. I think technically you have a really good piece here.

I'm impressed that you were able to shoot all of that in 3 days especially one day on the desert exteriors. Nice job on lighting continuity, that is really a PITA.

In my opinion, the weakest part was the ladies performances. They were doing the classic acting with sighs ...sigh...say line...sigh...react to other line...sigh...rinse and repeat. It's hard to cut around that unfortunately. Directing actors is a really tough and takes a lot of practice, especially with newer actors.

Cheers!

Chris
