Hi,
I'm new to shooting video for my newspaper's website www.freep.com
I'm a still photographer that primarily shoots pro and college sports in Detroit but
have been shooting video since June of 2008. My paper bought me a nice hvx-200 aling with accessories and a 17 in Mac Book Pro with Final Cut. I've enjoyed shooting with the camera and learning how to make cool and interesting video shorts for the website.

I spent most of October shooting my first long video (about 10 minutes) on a football coach who came back to his alma mater and spending 10 years playing in the NFL.

Please check it out and I'd love feedback:

um.....WGZN.....you ever have a job where you aren't in control of some things??

I worry about the visuals of good storytelling with my HVX-200 which is why I'm on this great site for info, tips etc. What you are talking about is a website issue with my newspaper. If you want their email WGZN I'd be glad to give it to you and you can tell them of your frustrations and concerns about the whole user browser issue. You're not the first to mention it but like I said I'm a visual guy but the more others mention it maybe they will listen.

Thanks for watching the video WGZN, glad you enjoyed it. It does have a good message doesn't it?;)

Hi Ksun83,
Thanks for watching it. I did edited it myself using a Mac and Final Cut Pro. I had tons of audio and video to sort through but really enjoyed the editing process.

Nice job. Keep it up. I am also a pro photographer. It is so fullfilling to be able to create visuals in either still or video. The creative process is great.

Thanks John,
Making the transition from being a photojournalist to a videojournalist has been more about the technical with camera, final cut pro, mics etc than the actually shooting.

It is a fun process overall. Thanks for checking out the video.

Looks very nice. Very rich colors well exposed and good message, too, by the way.

Did you use a custom preset on the HVX to achieve the color richness?

Hi Steffen,
No presets are normal, I guess it is just the nice light in Michigan :dankk2:

I got the camera in late June and have yet to fully understand or take advantage of presets etc.

Thanks for watching it.

Eric
