I just bought a DVX 100B and can't hear any sound, either in my headset or via speaker, on playback. Can someone PLEASE help me? I have to conduct an interview tomorrow, and I'm relying, solely, on this camera. THANKS TO ANYONE WHO MIGHT REPLY...:(

Do you have the microphone inputs configured properly?

Just to make sure the headphone circuit is working, slide both input switches to the internal mics, and then listen while the camera is on (in camera mode). Also, make sure the audio dials are turned up.

Thanks so very much for the quick reply; I will try that toute de suite and let you know what happens!

Hi, David!!! YOU SAVED ME!!!! I turned the switches re: the internal mic to the 'On' position; I also turned the volume controls up, and the resulting 'tst' video was great! (I hope that I have as much luck hooking up my lav mics to the camera! Have a GREAT weekend!!!

You have to make sure your input switches are set correctly if you want to use the lav mic. Be sure to thoroughly test it.

THANKS, David and Jay...

THANKS, David and Jay...

I appreciate your concern: yes, I did try the lavs with the camera tonight. Wundebah and mazel tov! ~Sher/ a.k.a.: TeeTee~ (Believe it or not, I have to take my mom to the hospital tonight; so I don't know if the interview will come off after all. *SIGH*. Oh well: mothers come first. (But, it's good to have friends in high places; thanks again, gentleman...)

Try using the audio level monitors to verify you are getting audio, and to set the right levels. It helps to use headphones while you are shooting also to make sure levels are good. Remember to use the phantom power if you are using a mic with no power source. Just experiment with all the variations so you don't look foolish trying to figure it out while someone is staring at you impatiently! (Practice on your friends)
