Emergency question about the HVX-200 and FS-100

Hey I got into a nightmare situation when shooting an event on Sunday that unexpectedly was determined to last 3hrs. So I had to switch to SD in order to capture the entire event. Anyways I have recorded to SD on the FS-100 once before with no problems, I changed the HVX-200 settings to 480i/24p and set the FS-100 to DV/DVCPRO and everything seemed to work fine and had no problems while shooting. However, when i got back this morning to edit, I started to ingest the footage into FCP and I have all the HUD from the camera display overlaying my video!!! HELP! has anyone had this happen? I am pretty sure there is nothing I can do about it now but what went wrong??? ARGHHHHH!

Yep, that can happen, another reason why I don't like the firestore. It's not the firestore's fault, but it's something that can happen to you when using the firestore.

You should make sure that VIDEO OSD is set to "off" so that the information isn't supered on the video. It can only happen in DV mode, and I thought it would only happen if you had the P2/TAPE switch set to TAPE. Is that what you did, do you remember?

Yup thats it.... been there done that. ..... OSD is fine as long as you have an external monitor hooked up and not shooting to tape.

Yes, it was set to TAPE rather than P2. Well, I guess I'm off to do some explaining...
I would probably switch to P2 after this if I wasn't waiting for Scarlet.

Thanks,
Jesse

you wont see the scarlet available for at least another year or more. At least that's the latest I've read.
