Here's the most recent of mine. My compression settings were off a bit, causing an interlacing issue and a "not-so-clean-footage" look, but I'm too lazy to re-compress. I assure you, it was all shot in progressive. Steadicam shots come in about 1/3rd of the way through... so stick it out. It starts off a bit slow.

VIDEO HERE

Shot on DVX100a, Canon XL2, and the Canon A1 on the steadicam in SD mode.

Stedicam or a really steady hand?

He Deffo used a steady cam of some sort. You simply can't get fluid 360 degree shots like that and also some of the shot when he was follpwing people.

Awesome work Ryan, your choice of when and where to use the steady cam was perfect mate, Kudo's!!!
It looks like you've been doing this for a while, your shots are professionally planned and composed beautifully.
I really enjoyed it, it gave me a few ideas to work on for my next shoot.
Thanks for the share.

Well, it's not impossible, but figured someone that knows Brown would chip in as I'm pretty much a noob.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I used the Steadicam Pilot for this one, and I'm loving it. It doesn't belong to me, but after using it in one wedding, I'll definitely be looking into buying one. It really upped the production value of the entire wedding... not just this small montage.

I've been doing weddings for about 6 years now, fulltime, at a rate of at least 2 per month. It's definitely not anything new, and I think I've seen it all.

Scary compression, very contrasty.

Beautiful though man.

I still don't get why clients would rather there boring hour long wedding DVD just slapped together. The ceremony, the after party, all over this kind of video/montage.

Nice work.

HOW did you get the "flying" effect about halfway through, just after the prayer scene? Just where it "flies" up to the orchestra.

Great job i loved it. i want to get a steadi cam now after seeing the different angle you walk and keep
it smooth.
