Well, if you're willing to wait a bit until they're released, you may want to check these guys out:

Leo,

I checked their site. No info regarding availability. I called the number listed and I got what seemed to be a private residence. Left a message if in fact it was SmallHD to get back to me. This was 3 days ago and I've heard nothing from them.

Thanks anyhow.

Yes, a number of people are waiting in the wings on them and haven't heard back... Here's another option as well:

What about the Nebtek NEB70HDS, seems to be the most affordable and reliable HD-SDI compatible monitor. Also supports Panasonic batteries for power. I'm still in the market though so if something cheaper/better comes up with HDSDI I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

The Carrion was my first choice, but I've just heard to many horror stories on wait times.

If looking in the $2200-2500 range, check out the TV Logic LVM-071W 7" HD LCD monitor.
I bought one in January and every DIT and AC that uses my HDX900 thinks it's the best of the 7" models. One of my DIT's just bought one for himself.

Here's what it offers:

Sharpest image I've seen, very effective peaking without being too overdone
Good colorimetry
Good contrast and brightness, almost a CRT look to the contrast
Waveform and vector displays
Many aspect ratio markers, can be any color
Pixel to pixel
Focus in Red
Embedded audio with bar graphs and built-in speaker
Built-in yoke and three threaded mounting positions
Best user interface I've seen--most controls are buttons or knobs--not too menu driven with arrows
B&W mode, Blue only mode
HD SDI, SDI loop thru
Composite, component analog and DVI inputs
V-mount battery adapter

Only downside is batteries/charge will be expensive compared to Panasonic 5400Mah batts, but V-mounts last a lot longer.(I just run off the camera via D-Tap) and the screen is reflective. Off axis is a bit better than the Panasonic
LH80.

Upsides, besides more features for the price and great image are free firmware upgrades--just got Focus in Red and see through in addition to opaque scope backgrounds added.

I have a Panasonic LH80 monitor as well and the TV Logic just has it in many areas.

Recommend Empire Scientific for V-mount batteries and chargers--great pricing. My TV Logic
dealer is Preco in Burbank and Scottsdale. Great service and pricing.
