Shot this last night. One of my friends shoots all of the local skate shop videos and all that so I decided to tag along since he was filming at our college right after we were done with class.

Shot in 60i / 4:3 Letterbox

Basically just messing around testing out slo-mo type stuff and figuring out better ways to up-res.

Thanks

Well to be honest the two best ways for me (Which are free) were achieved by using Mpeg Streamclip (Free program) and by just exporting in a 720p timeline.

Exporting in the 720p timeline is a bit more time consuming but it usually comes out the same as mpeg streamclip. I just export regular 480, then bring it in to a 720 projects timeline. Scale it properly then export again. I shot it in 4:3 letter boxed so once I brought it into the 720 timeline I just scaled it so the letterbox was gone. Seemed to work out pretty well.

There is a bit of pixelation around some of the edges. I'm pretty sure this is because of using color to do some grading. For some reason whenever I use color, my clips end up looking terrible afterwards. Not sure why though.

pretty sure he didnt use an adapter!
very noticeable interlacefooty, slowmo was pretty cool, quality was kinda bad.

But as it is testfootage I think it was interesting, keep going :)

Yeah it was super interlaced. I was editing on a 29.97 timeline so I'm assuming that was my issue. I just tried to export it again on a 60fps timeline and nothing was interlaced upon exporting. So I'm going to re-upload it eventually.

I've got another question though. How to I combine footage say if I shot 24pN, 30p, and 60i? What timeline setting would I use and would I have to de-interlace anything?

Thanks in advance for the help.

edit on a 29.97 timeline, took me a while to figure all that out too also i think you capture the 24pn the way you would 30p and 60i and thats leaving the pulldown intact and then just deinterlace if your going to the web.
